Live Bat Out Of Hell on new CD?
I was just reading the review of Meat's new album in "Classic Rock". The review goes on about how all writers seem to be trying to copy Steinman - but that it is never quite the same. But I guess the review could have been worse - the album is given three out of five stars which is the "good" category
The review at the end states that there is a live version (storytellers version I seem to have read somewhere) which it calls horrendous tacked on to the end of the album. My question is could someone who has bought the two CD set which is in the shops in the UK this week confirm whether that is on there. Certainly that track does not appear to have been on the copy that I bought from Germany - unless I am so dense that I can't find it which is more than likely! Thanks |

I couldn't be happier that there's Bat live on the end. :) From all fan reviews I've heard it fits in beautifully (the sound gels nicely, I hear). I have the storytellers DVD but not the CD, and I used to put it in the player and just keep skipping between A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste and Bat Out Of Hell, for like, literally hours at a time. (When I was the only one home... my brothers wouldn't realy go for it).
It is such a great version. I love it. Plus, I think its cool when artists go back and re arrange their old stuff and re do it. I mean, Meat's been doing live versions of it the whole time and their all slightly different, but this is a basic studio recording, very different - played to perfection and finding Meat in absolute terrific voice. Oh, I just can't wait... Bohemian |

My Album has a little red sticker on the front that says 'Features Bat Out Of Hell as hidden track'
I read the review in Classic Rock today and I think what the reviewer is meaning is that Bat has been added to the album to make up for all the non-steinman songs so it will sell more copies, although im quite happy that it is on the album - it's a nice bonus. Bohemien - I visited Brisbane last December - you are so lucky to live in such a nice place, I stayed in the Saville Abbey Hotel across from the transit centre - o u know it? Also spent most evenings in 'Showgirls' (and most of my money) |

which version?
From which concert was the live Bat taken? I've got the German version which doesn't have it.
Does anyone know which issue of Rolling Stone had the review of CHSIB? I think it got 2.5 out of 5. |

I have family in Perth so in 2001 I decided to vist them and then as I was in Oz visit Sydney and Brisbane and it really is a nice place and I loved it so much that I went back last December.
If I can afford it I might go again in 2004 cos I would love to go up to the barrier reef as I didn't get chance the last time. |
