Default Opening up a whole new audience for meat

I had an idea as i continually listen to the new CHSIB album, and i discovered something which i genuinely think Meat could do to get more promo.

The song do It! in my opinion fits to perfect for an advertisement for Nike Sportswear. Think about it..... The Nike moto is Do it! and i can just see the advert on TV now as footballers wear the sport gear to the theme of Meats song. I dont know about in America but all UK people will know what i mean. I really have great faith in this idea especially cuz more and more people hear songs in adverts. The last UK number one single was released from the Lynx advert, you always hear people talking about songs from Ads...if i was Meat i'd go for this big time!! Those who know Nike just listen to Do It and focus on what im saying!!! Its a song with a name that all fits into the Nike image!!

What a great idea .
Of corse a lot of songs have become big hits after being used in adverts.I don't know if Nike would have to aproach artists for music or artists can submit ideas. If so it would be great if Meat could get in on this.

the other thing i forgot to mention is football etc is a young audience - teenagers - this single could make teenagers aware of the name 'meat loaf' - the way it did with Elvis and his 'A Little Less Conversation'. The songs in a style they listen to (near rap etc) and they also buy the most cd's (how else do West Life, Blue get to #1, its surely all those teenagers buying the music). Do It is a cool song that young people would like and the idea of it being associated with football etc would really make the song a hit!
ITS AT LEAST WORTH A LOOK INTO!

Just because the title and slogan happen to be the same, doesn't mean it's a suitable song for the advert.

Hi, guys! You know, ever since I first heard 'Do It,' I've been teasing my family about "Here comes the Nike ads," just joking around and all.

But in reality, it IS an excellent idea. Meatloafisgod, Nike is big here, too, and their advertising is everywhere.

In addition to the International sales it could bring, thinking down the line, when CHSIB hits the US, which, as you know, is a huge country, with such diverse people and even more diverse musical tastes, ANYTHING that draws attention to the new CD here is a good idea. It's not an easy thing to do these days.

And the song, Do It! is perfectly set up for it. It's catchy. As you all say, it's appealing for the younger audience--perfect for Nike (and so many advertisers these days). And I can just see the TV ads in my head, as I'm writing this.

Do you think the young would be disappointed, though, if they're into that kind of music, and then discover what Meat is really all about?? Hummm....I don't know the answer to that...

But it's true, it could very well help sell CDs and anything that does that is good news for Meat!

This is something, obviously, that Meat's people have to go for--negotiations, contracts, royalties would all have to be worked out. I'm sure the idea has occurred to someone there. Perhaps, they're already working on it--IF Meat has gotten a US label for the CD, that is. That, of course, has to come first. And I'm praying since the album entered at #4 on the UK charts this week, he should have no more problems with it!!

Anyway, thanks for posting this and talking about it. It gave me a whole new way of looking at my 'joking around.' I love getting new perspectives on things--keeps one's mind open and ready for whatever is next!

Let's hope Left Bank or whoever would handle something like this is looking into it!!!

Love to all,
MB

The last thing Nike want is a dogdy 80s-sounding album-filler promoting their product.

It sounds like it was a b-side from Blind Before I Stop.
