The coin spins high into the air, but on attempting to catch the coin, the guy mistimes his guess and swallows the coin.
The man begins to choke, and his girlfriend cries loudly for help.
Suddenly a man appears, grabs the bloke by the bollocks, and squeezes very hard without much apparent effort.
The coin fires from the guys mouth into his rescuers hand.
The mans relieved girlfriend emotionally thanks the man and asks "how did you do that? Are you a doctor?

To which the man replied

No.

As if there aren't going to be enough people in the M&Gs already... at this rate we'll get a glimpse of the man himself, be rushed through and stopped for a fraction of a second for a photo then shoved out the door again...

Ah well, it's a great opportunity anyway.

Gonna be unpopular now but it's something I feel strongly about !!

I don't have the money and personally I don't see how it's fair to pay for the privalliage to meet him, I've met some idols and it was free !!!!

there's money to be made from it...if it looks 30 or so people per show for the meet and greets that's around 6 grand per show, which is big money when there are overheads.

i'd say it'll be fine...they will have planned this out regardless

yes but imagine what would happen if Meat stepped outside the stage door like MB did when you met him, MB's shows are so regular he knows he wont get mobbed but Meat on the other hand would so the opportunity isnt neccessarily the same. As far as the whole is it a fair price debate goes i aint getting into that again, some have seen it worth paying and some havent so can we leave it at that please??

the thing that bugs me is that appearantly they didnt sell enough m&g packages the first time around, so they didnt get the calculated money.

Now, getting rid of the remaining packages is good and fine, BUT they made it look like some special offer, when it's infact more expensive (tix + upgrade) then buying a normal m&g package (which are still available!)

the normal way would have been to sell the remaining ones at a cheaper rate, so that people who didnt buy them before would get a reason to buy them. That's after all what special offers are for!

This is nothing else but milking the money from desperate fans who dont get whats going on.

They couldn't have charged the original m&g packages at one price then reduce the price afterwards there would be hell on. I paid for a m&g as i thoiught this maybe the only chance i will get to meet him. I just hope you get a bit personal time with him and not a group meet.

But then in a way that is also Meat's fault, if he had been more open to meeting people after shows from day one or before there would of been less of a risk of mobbing, as it is he can't step out of the stage door because he will indeed get mobbed but it's kind of the principle I object to Anji.
I know what your saying and I respect that personally I think it's unfair and unjust, I knew when I said it I would be unpopular by saying what I did but it's something I feel really strongly about.

Ditto. For me, what you get in the package for the price is not too bad even with the upgrades being a few quid dearer. I couldn't really put a price on spending some time with a musician I've been listening to since before I was even born. It's something I have wanted to do pretty much all my life and will no doubt remember for the rest of my life.

I'm probably going to be flamed like crazy for this, but to an extent I think this isn't such a bad idea in certain situations. I bought a standing ticket for London before I decided a few days later just to go for the M&G package. If there had been an upgrade package then for that date, I would've gone for that instead of now having a spare ticket which I'll have to sell. It could be good for people in a similar situation, or for people who have bought seating tickets for dates which the M&G packages offer standing tickets for etc.

I understand what you mean Emma but to be honest I don't think Meat could be any more accessible than he is now. I first met Meat in 1999 and in 9 years this will be the first time I've had to pay to meet him, the others have been free M&G prize draws, album signings that were available to the public, the golf in Wales with an entry fee that cost the grand total of £5, and not many artists do that. Something doesn't sit right with me about paying to meet him, but if it's the only opportunity then that's what I'll do as it's that or nothing.

As far as I know Meat did used to quite openly come out after shows and meet fans (long before my time though, Andy would be more qualified to fill you in on that one!) but there's just no way he could do that now...think about when we met the band after RAH, they were brilliant but even they had to fight their way to get to cars, if Meat had joined them there'd have been a riot!!

I knew my O Levels would come in handy for something

In days gone by Meat did used to hang around after concerts by the stage door, signing autographs, chatting to fans and more often than not winding them up. The first couple of times I met Meat in the mid-80's were situations like that.

Yeah I knew that M, just thought it was an extra kick in the teeth to let people who have brought tickets elsewhere buy a m&g as well lol.

Oh well we get the forum for our $40. What more could we ask for
