I don't agree with war at all and wonder why we haven't found a way around it, with that said I admire any soldier who puts their life on the line for their country and for freedom, I can't say enough for them.

Remember, Veteran's Day is about WWI...1914-1918 Beleive it or not...there are still 4 surviving veterans of that war alive today: One in Russia - he is 112 years old, one in the States and 2 in Australia... WOW |

Actually, we have three.
Funny enough, one for each service, Army, Navy, and the Royal Flying Corps. These three chaps were on the telly the other night, and when asked what message he'd like to pass on, one of these chaps said "remember the Germans, as well as our own". |

The UK has four remaining survivors.
They bear listing here Henry Allingham, 112. Harry Patch, 110. Bill Stone, 108, and Claude Choules, 107. Canada has one remaining veteran, John Babcock 108. The US has one remaining veteran, Frank Buckles 107. Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Turkey and Austro-Hungary have no remaining survivors. |

Wikipedia has a different list lol, I find it sad that our colelctive governments can't maintain an accurate list! There are different lists based on differing views of the term "served in WW1" some survivors are discounted because they joined up after the cessation of hostilities but before the treaty of Versailles was signed, so they served but didn't fight.
