The Rare Songs: 36. Revolution Per Minute
Rare Songs: Revolution Per Minute
This song was the B-side track of the "Rock'n'Roll Mercenaries" single in 1986. It's an good rockin' eighties song, but nothing more. It's a bit too simple for me and the melody is also just average. A typical B-side track, but with the same style like all the other songs on the BBIS album. Nice to dance to. 7/10 |

aha, finally after 17 years i get to know what R.P.M. means
I never knew. I got this single. I even remember when and where i bought it and i remember when i played it. Awfull frontcover. I haven't listened to this song for more then 10 years, cause i don't have a recordplayer anymore. But in a way, this song is rather nice.Too much synthesizers, but a nice rock song. 7/10. |

It's no better than Rock 'n' Roll Mercenaries. No better than other BBIS song. It's very very very average!
My score: 5 Average: 6.00 (36/6) |

Mmm, a nice song. Not one of the best, but still nice.

One of the rare songs Meat did which I really can't stand. Music is unimaginative, and from what I can make of the lyrics, they are pretty below-average. I'd rather listen to the Exploded Version of RnR Mercenaries. Next please... 5/10
Oh and PS: anyone have a clue of the lyrics? my transcription seems pretty bad, after I just heard the song again. |

I agree that this is not one of Meat's better tracks but still worth 6/10
Evil Nickname - I too tried to transcribe the lyrics some time ago. Very difficult task and I gave up in the end but this is what I had at that point for what it is worth which is probably not a lot!! Seven o' clock and all the songs begin Open my eyes time to go again Video playing my favourite song Wondering if you feel like ?????????? Got to connect You know I've gotta move Running outta time It's kinda hit me in the grove ???? it rushes through me like fires on the wind ????????????? I wanna hear it again Revolution per minute I know exactly what you're trying to say Revolution per minute When I hear it turn it up all the way Revolution per minute Just let it take me so far away Revolution per minute You know there's power in the radio waves You know there's power in the radio waves You know there's power in - radio waves Got that feeling so young and strong Hit the road, turn it up and I'm gone Beat takes me farther and farther from home Never really seem to find myself all alone Got to connect etc Got me trapped here with a falling ??????? Losing my mind, gonna go insane ?????????????? so the people next door tend to leave me alone And all those feelings that I never lose And all those moments when my dreams come true You know it rushes through me like fires off the wind ????????? I wanna hear it again |

Puritan, thank you! I took your version, and combined that with mine, and here's the result... let me know what you think.
R.P.M. Seven o'clock and the sun creepin' in, oh Open my eyes, time to go again Video playing my favorite song I wonder if you feel like I always [belong / be low] pre-chorus: Time to connect I know I gotta move Running out of time It's kinda hit me in the groove When it rushes through me Like fires off the wind When I see it I wanna hear it again pre-chorus: Revolution per minute... I know exactly what you're trying to say Revolution per minute... When I hear it, turn it up all the way Revolution per minute... Just let it take me so far away Revolution per minute... You know there's power in the radio waves You know there's power in the radio waves You know there's power in... radio waves Got the feeling, so young and strong Hit the road, turn it up and I'm gone Keep getting me farther and farther from home Never really seem to find myself all alone Got me tied down with a ball and chain Losing my mind, gonna go insane Goin' up in a room that's made of stone So the people next door tend to leave me alone pre-chorus chorus And all these feelings that I never lose And all those moments when my dreams come through You know it rushes through me like fires off the wind When I see it I wanna hear it again.... Revolution per minute... I know exactly what you're trying to say Revolution per minute... When I hear it, turn it up all the way Revolution per minute... Revolution per minute......... |

Evil Nickname,
I think the above is very close "sun creeping in" I agree is clear in line one, as is the "got me tied down with a ball and chain" later on "Goin' up in a room that's made of stone" makes no sense to me but it does sounds like it You have "Time to connect, I know I gotta move". I just can't hear it as that to me it is "Got to connect, you know I gotta move". But at my age I probably need my ears testing anyway!! |

i thought this song was brill too and better than a lot of songs on bbis. it is a real hard rocker and meats voice was excellent on it . maybe one day it will resurface as a bonus track on a re issue bbis. a 10 again perhaps.
