Wink Bat played on the radio

Not sure where this should go so mods please move if I've put it in the wrong place but as mum and I were coming into town earlier, about quarter to six we also had Chris Evan's radio show on R2 and someone rang in and requested BOOH, I was very happy though they missed out a whole verse but still Meat got some air time and Chris mentioned playing golf with him too.

Thought I'd share that .

Well, a few of us bumped into Chris and had a natter to him, and he was perfectly lucid.

Either Chris is bullshitting, OR, he's not the hard drinker he's always made himself out to be and thinks the effects of a couple of halfs of shandy is what it's like to be off your tits

I have NEVER heard the full version of BOOH played on the radio. Also - as will possibly horrify many of you, it was in my top 5 favourite songs for many years without me even realising there was MORE of it! (a Meat Loaf fan introduced me to the rest of the song, several albums and many many more songs and uh...now I'm here! and you'll never get rid of me...mwahaha! )

I never said meat loaf fans introduced me to here but...if you look carefully I am sure you may find a few...in fact - watch how you go - you may trip over one or two on your way out... they can be prone to congregating in large groups, but generally tend to be pleasant friendly types and most don't bite

not only am I sounding a little crazy I'm also in danger of going off topic soooo to rectify that...

I am told by a friend that Radio 2 have frequently played 2oo3 recently. So, Meat on the radio. Can't be bad! (even though I don't actually listen to radio 2, but hey)

i'll shut up now.

Mike,
They missed out the entire dying scene, the core of the song where he sees his heart beat out of his body and flying away then just on the BOOH to fade... It's crap when they do that !!

Also not sure if anyone else has noticed this but when Meat sings Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad on Storytellers he totally misses out the verse with the Coupe De'ville part. Not sure if that was deliberate or he just forgot and to save embarassment skipped it all together !!

once you know the rest of the song, i agree it's almost painful to have the heart of the song ripped out!

as for 2oo3 i personally feel it needs the coupe de ville bit as it goes with the way i interpret it. works without it but prefer it with it.

Chris Evans was at the RAH concert?! That's news to me!

I'll bet there are a few people who didn't know how long some Meat songs are until they hear the proper album rather than just hearing it on radio or compilation albums. I didn't know AFL was a duet until I listened to Bat 2 properly about eight or nine years ago, now!
