What's on TV?
Well?
Supernatural blasted back onto our UK screens on ITV2 on Sunday, and it was literally a Dean Out Of Hell moment. In brief, the Winchester brothers are monster hunters. They travel from place to place hunting and dispatching demons. Although many episodes work well as stand alone stories, there is often a sub plot weaving it's way through the series. At the end of series 3, Dean had been dragged to hell. Now he's back, but you'll have to watch to see how he got out. Luckilly for me, a pal of mine has errrrrrm, borrowed most of the current series off the internet so i've watched most of the series over the last two nights. Supernatural is great TV. The supernatural is a difficult thing to get just right. It can come over as too OTT, or just plain silly. It's hard to find the right balance to give the viewer a chill. That said, Supernatural is always good for at least one funny episode per season where the plot twists and laughs come hard and fast, but no matter how bizzare a plot seems to be, all ties in nicely by the end of the episode. It helps that the stories are sound, and that both Winchester brothers are played by actors who play their characters skillfully though quite naturally. Jensen Ackles in particular continues to give a stunning performance as Dean. As the more flippant brother Dean is often funny, but like the clown crying on the inside, there are much more revealing moments throughout the series, and these trully are well played and believable. So far i've seen 11 of the 15 episodes to this season, and I must say my favourite was episode 8. The comedy episode quite often is. All that i'll say about it is that that Teddy Bear redefines the word AWESOME. Catch Supernatural every Sunday. 9:00pm ITV2 |

Sounds great Neil. I'll see if it's on the ITV player online as we only have the old fashioned channels where i live.
Have been watching Demons which is ok....wouldn't be half as good without Philip Glennister of course. It's a bit of a curates egg. Good bits...and not so good. Also excellent were Hunter, a new detective series with Hugh Bonneville and Janet McTeer, Wallander and Hustle. Oh and 2 Lynda La Plante series the names of which elude me at the mo. |

started watching supernatural when it came out, but after 2,3 episodes it got way too confusing and stupid for me.
a series which is quite watchable lately is "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles", check that one out. |

What was the last TV show you saw?
I don't think this thread exists, got to be honest I haven't bothered searching, there's one for films, but there's a lot of good TV shows out there too.

Famous, Rich & Homeless - good programme using celebrities to highlight the homeless struggle on the streets. I always thought they were a bunch of lazy shits, but most of them have had terrible pasts and the homeless have heartfelt stories too.

Not counting the shit that's on in the background. The last decent one that's worth watching is Krod Mandoon And The Flaming Sword Of Fire. A Blackadder for the 21st century! Deserves to be a classic after 3 episodes!

it probably is a good thing this is 'what was the last TV show you saw?' and not, what was the last decent tv show... as the last thing I watched (other than the news) was about 20 minutes of America's Got Talent, which was crazy.

My 20 minutes was for the same reason - nothing else on ... and a strange magnetism to watching some of the insanity. It's nice to know that not all of the world's crazy people are restricted to these forums or to telephoning me at work |

And in 10 minutes time, the last TV show I saw will be "Wife Swap" where wife-does-nothing swapped with wife-does-everything (obviously!) and wife-does-nothing has just murdered PDBTDBL in karaoke... in a strange link back to the meaty world!
Blimey it seems like I don't half watch a load of crap! |

Wife Swap US is better than UK because you have the religious extremists in America who are nucking futs over Jesus |

Sounds like the episode that aired last week. The fat dirty slob this time was such a lazy woman, didn't work, had a lovely 18 month daughter she didn't care for properly (gave her crisps and coke to eat and drink), didn't clean at all, wakes up at 1pm in the afternoon, smokes like chimney. ~~~~ing disgrace.
