Gigography
Does anyone know where I can find an up-to-date gigography of all the shows Meat Has done over the years.
I know it will be hard especially as Meat does and has done hundreds of gigs over the years but i would love to see a full list of all the shows Meat has performed. |

Wow, I've never heard of a "gigography". I would love to find out the date of the best concert I ever went to, ML at Jannus Landing in St Petersburg Florida. I think it was 89 or 90, and it really bothers me that I can't pinpoint the date, or at least the year. I tried a Yahoo and Google search with "Meat Loaf" and "Jannus Landing", but I didn't find anything at all. One of the Kasim sites has a "this day in Kasim history" sort of thing every day, they must have a list of many of the concerts. It's either Kasimnews or Kasiminfo, I always get confused about the URL.

On This Day in 1996 Kasim Sulton played a concert with Meat Loaf at Olympiahalle, Munich, Germany. However, Sherrie I'm afraid that I can't help you out with you query as back in 1990 Kasim was playing with Hall and Oates - he didn't start playing concerts with Meat Loaf until 1993. Does the venue have a website? Maybe they keep records from 14 years ago, I know that some venues do. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

Renegade Angel - your dates for the StoryTellers tour are wrong. They did not play all those dates in Boston, others were cancelled due to illness later in the tour (e.g. Columbus) and you do not list the Florida dates.
It is also advisable that if you are just swiping info from another site (e.g. the NOTP dates obviously came from my site) you should at least quote your sources. I'm not sure if this board has the "out" that the MLUKFC is not responsible for what people post on this board but if they don't the MLUKFC could get into trouble too. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

I was just trying to put together a list of all the shows - OK, I may have 'swiped' the material from your site, but seen as someone posted the link to your site, pointing me in the right direction as to where I could get these dates then Im hardly going to ignore this am I?
I could have easily just copied the list myself and typed it out, but instead I pasted it - but does it really matter? Im not saying that I had the most up-to-date gigography, I was hoping that we could all work together to make it as acurate as we could get it, but it seems that you are more upset that it came from your site. Apologies to everyone on this message board for having a bit of fun - next time I will try and be more serious. |

My point was that if you take info from any site and post it anywhere on this board, you should quote your sources. Websites and getting the info for websites takes a lot of time and energy. I'm very careful on my site to quote where I receive info from or to add links to the sites (e.g. venue sites), also to ask permission before I use info. Other sites (e.g. Mirror Of The Soul) are too.
As I said before I don't know if the MLUKFC cover themselves by saying that what people post are their own responsibility but if not, then the fan club could conceivably get into trouble with intellectual copyright laws if people post other things on this board. In the case of these dates, the correct way to have done it was to have added a note that the dates came from whichever site you took them from. I never said that you had to remove the NOTP dates either (as all the non-corporate ones are available on other sites too). In case you're wondering why I'm sensitive about this, other than it being a legal matter, recently a site was set up that had about 80 photos from my site without permission and no acknowledgement from where they came. Plus I don't want the MLUKFC getting into trouble from other websites. Incidentially the correct list of StoryTellers dates for the concerts actually played (from http://www.kasiminfo.com/Tours/Meat/StoryTellers.html) was: 10/30 Albany, NY The Palace Theatre 11/02 Boston, MA The Orpheum 11/04 Boston, MA The Orpheum 11/05 Portland, ME State Theater 11/07 Erie, PA Warner Theater 11/09 Providence, RI Performing Arts Center 11/11 Newark, NJ New Jersey Perorming Arts Center 11/13 Uncasville, CT Mohegan Sun 11/14 Atlantic City, NJ Trump Marina 11/16 Poughkeepsie, NY, Mid Hudson Civic Center 11/18 Wilkes-Barre, PA Kirby Center 11/20 Wilkes-Barre, PA Kirby Center 11/22 Pittsburgh, PA Benedum Center 11/23 Buffalo, NY Shea's Performance Arts Center 11/26 Rochester, NY Auditorium Theatre 11/27 Syracuse, NY Landmark Theatre 11/30 Philadelphia, PA Entertainment Center 12/01 Washington, DC Constitution Hall 12/03 St. Louis, MO Fox Theatre 12/05 Chicago, IL Aire Crown Theatre 12/06 Milwaukee, WI The Riverside Theatre 12/12 Detroit, MI State Theatre 12/13 Toledo, OH Seagate Center 12/15 Toronto, ONT, Massey Hall 12/16 Youngstown, OH Stamburgh Auditorium 12/18 Cleveland, OH Music Hall 12/19 Cleveland, OH Music Hall 12/27 New York, NY Beacon Theatre 12/29 New York, NY Beacon Theatre 12/31 New York, NY Beacon Theatre 01/01 New York, NY Beacon Theatre 01/03 Ruth Eckland Hall, Clearwater, FL 01/05 Ruth Eckland Hall, Clearwater, FL 01/06 Hard Rock Live, Orlando, FL 01/08 Florida Theater, Jacksonville, FL 01/09 Gusman Center, Miami, FL Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

I understand that you might be annoyed that someone is stealling material from your site and using it as there own work but they are only tour dates that if I hadn't found them from your site then they would have been somewhere else and I would have just copied them but seen as there was a link to your page already posted here then I looked there first, so I apologise to you for not giving credit as to where I got them from.
The thing I don't understand is that they are only tour dates and not pictures or your own personal material that is copyrighted. Like I say I could have just copied them and typed them onto the page, as I did with most of the others that took me ages to copy from various tour books - what difference would it be if someone clicked on the link that was already posted or if they saw the dates here? |

I think you'll find that it is called Intellectual Copyright Theft. In the case of the NOTP dates you won't (or shouldn't) find the corporate dates anywhere else as I doubt that anyone else spent 2 months going to all the concerts and asking the crew and members of the orchestra about the corporate concerts (as they were not announced shows).
I've already posted a message in the moderators section of the site asking about whether or not the MLUKFC are covered by what people post on this board or not. As you said in this case they were only tour dates but I don't want the MLUKFC getting into trouble if someone posted huge chunks of copyrighted material from other websites or books or things. I must apologise that I used the NOTP tour dates from your site - I didn't know that you researched this tour as well as you did and my hat goes off to you for that.
However these tour dates did take place, weather they were advertised or not, they still deserve to be added to the gigography, so anybody trying to put such a gigography together would include these dates if they found them on the net. |
