Jim - Streets Of Fire: Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young (9)

Fantastic rock-disco song. But I don't know who is the performer. Anybody can help me?

My score: 9

Hi White, this is my favourite track of the whole album It's sung bya group who called themselves Fire Incwhich included Jim Steinman and four vocalists-Laurie Sergeant,Holly Sherwood,Rory Dodd and Eric Troyer. Have you seen the film it's brilliant both the song and the film get 10/10 from me!

Where Streets of Fire, the movie, is just as good a movie as, lets say, Glitter, this song is easily the best on the whole soundtrack. Can't see why this wasn't a big hit. Classic track.

8.5/10

I love it, too! One of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

I do like this song, but it gets a bit repetitive, there is not much variation in the vocals.

I reckon 7.5 / 10 is fair.

The intro and the female vocals in the intro are aaaaaweewsome. And the lyrics: If can't get an angle, i can still get a boy and a boy would be the next best thing to an angle.

9/10.

This is one of those classic Steinman songs where the lyrics are so great that they can afford to be repetitive, much in the same tradition of "Out Of The Frying Pan". I love Holly's voice because it clearly symbolizes the eroticness of the song. Just close your eyes and say the title "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" it's one of the greastests song titles of all time and clearly gives the message of almost every of Jim's songs, that is, taking advantage of the night.
I LOVE this song.

10/10
