Moderation in thread Fan Campaign Single
Tell me that the moderation team here are not SERIOUSLY banning discussion on this topic? To the extent of moderating my post, not changing a thing, and just leaving a little marker that says "no more discussion".
Explanation, please. Doode. |

Moved to site feedback.
Discussion was tried in another thread, the current thread will not continue that. You say your post wasn't changed, it was, the contents of another post that you quoted were removed. |

Actually, and surprisingly, it wasn't this time. There were only objective comments, and people who were genuinly trying to help. The thread was locked anyway. Both threads. You know how I react to people unfairly picking at things, mocking the artiste, etc. Well, seems that things are now moving in reverse. Everything is sugar coated, no-one wants to hear anything *real*, and Big Brother is definitely watching with the power to end a discussion if he doesn't like what is being said. Wrong. There was no: sniping, mocking, hating comments, or non-constructive negative feedback at all. Everything that was written, was written with the aim of helping that campaign... even if it meant opening the eyes of some of the people running it, to the kind of advertising they would need to do in order to achieve what I'm sure everyone wants here - a Meat Loaf single at # 1 in the charts. A second hit of album sales. The possibility of a future with more Meat Loaf records. Not wanting to be part of a dictatorship, The Doode is very close to hanging up his bowling shoes, and taking his white russians (and maybe even some of that good sarsaparilla) somewhere else. Doode. |

I'll agree with you here Doode. I think debate is ok. I was one of the persons posting my opinion on both threads and I don't mind someone making a counter point to mine. As long as the posts are kept clean, the feedback is constructive with change in mind (and not "I told you so") and the discussion is healthy; there's no need to lock the thread. But I don't make those calls, I'm not a mod. And I've gotten myself in enough trouble already. |

Doode I don't want to see you go anywhere. I usually think your comments rock.
But those of you who are offering criticism (be it positive or negative) have to understand something: there are 10 of us working very hard here to do what we can around our day jobs to get this to happen. And right now the best thing for us is no criticism. Maybe ideas or encouragement, but thats it. So don't leave, if anything, come join us Quote:

I think the other helpers will agree that a better time and place for criticism is after the results are in and the event is over.
Anyone with positive energy and some work ethic should get their butt onboard and help us out :) then we can debate this later when emotions have simmered and we all have a different perspective. -Pricey |

Hey man,
I think that the direction that you are going with is radically different from the suggestions and ideas that I was coming up with, which is why I haven't offered anything else just yet. I work within a creative medium too, and I'm well aware of how much positive energy it takes to actualy get something done. I appreciate what you wrote, and I hope you manage to pull this off! Best of luck, Doode. Last edited by R.; 04 Jun 2010 at 09:26. Reason: Personal references removed. Check forum rules, if there are any questions. |

OK, as there is obviously some disagreement between certain members of the group behind this endevour, and we seem to be going round in circles (open thread, row, lock thread, second verse, same as the first ) i'm going to lock both threads on the subject at least until a time where the site staff can look at this problem and decide how to proceed.
Please don't start any more threads concerning this subject, or relating to locked threads. My personal thoughts are that locking more and more threads is getting us nowhere, and as this can not be discussed without a certain ammout of heat, the best thing may be to open the disussion in Fight Club. That will however, be decided after consultation with the rest of the staff. So until further notice, no more please! |
