Turn the volume off.

Or try a more practical way and read a boring book.

Did he sing any of that? Sorry, just not a Manilow fan. Who did that song first, Manilow or Meat?

meat, i think Manilow's wasn't til around 1983 and it sucked the life out of the song. meat's version had emotion

as I recall Jim was asked to provide some material for a Barry Manilow album around the time of DR. As the DR songs werent really well known to the general public he just gave him read em and weep. I think he said something along the lines of 'before other people ruin it, I'll rather ruin the song myself' (or was that about Bonnie Tyler's techno-version of 2 out of 3?)

Yes there was and I have it too. Warioloaf was even the one who uploaded it to Youtube.

Plus the fact that there are only so many ballads Meat can do in one show.

False logic.

When is the last time that a song from DR (apart from DR, and the couple of performances of IGLHFBOU) has been a regular in Meat's set list?

If he's going to do something different from Dead Ringer then I would rather it be IGLHFBOU or Read 'Em And Weep than Peel Out. It's my second least favourite on the album.
