Default Meat Loaf 'The Musical'

I have heard that there is to be a west end musical featuring all Rod Stewerts music.
There are also musicals featuring Queen and Madness being staged in the west end.

This got me thinking about how great it would be to have a musical featuring Meats music or maybe even a steinman musical.
Im not sure about the story ect but im sure that Meats music would fit into a musical a lot better than the above artsists.

Whistle down the wind did pretty well so im sure more Steinman songs with a few others would be great.

What does everyone else think?

In Germany the Scorpions made an album with Berliner Philharmoniker. I think this is the best album ever!!!!!
They will write a musical from the album!
Jim & Meat should do it too!!!

I'd love to see a Meat Loaf musical but it might be hard to put on seen as there have been so many people who have written music for meat besides Jim, So maybe a steinman one would be better using the majority of Meats music along with Bonnie Tyler, Pandoras Box and Jims own solo material, also including the tracks from 'Streets Of Fire'?

I actualy wrote a musical baised on Meat's/Jim's work a while ago.Yes,I am that sad .
But I though I was being silly and binned the notes, after all, what are the chances? .
If I can remember how it went i'll let you know .
I remember that initialy I wanted Not A Dry Eye In The House as the grand finale, but as it wasn't written by Jimmy I had to discard it .

I think the best we can hope for is that Neverland is produced somewhere.

But I love "We Will Rock You". It helps if you are a Queen fan, but the story is very good and I could see it happening. And a character called Meat Loaf is in it, but played by a woman! It makes sense if you see it!

I think that writing a musical of Meat Loaf / Steinman songs would be harder than Queen or Madness songs, since Meat Loaf songs are stories (sometimes epic ones) in themselves.

But, out of interest, could anyone come up with a decent storyline to tie a dozen or so songs together? It needs to be gothic, overblown and overwrought.

Look forward to your ideas ...

It never ceases to amaze me the talent on this forum, you mousie should have kept your notes, you never know when your dream will come true, if you wait long enough and have the patience, you can be rewarded

Why did you pick these songs? - did you have any kind of story in mind when you picked them or were they just random songs which you would like to be included?

I think their moods are able to build up a musical...

Barmad dont you think that all Jim and Meat's songs intertwine with each other it is like a on going story you can realate just about every song they have done with the next one it is like a life story who's i don't know only Jim and Meat can say but that's what it seems like to me so i dont think it would be hard to put to gether at all the storys are already there

Will be intresting to see what you other guys think about my theory

A Meat Musical featuring Steinmans songs would be great but it would be a shame if other Meat songs were not included because they are not written by Jim.
For instance 'Where The Rubber Meets The Road', 'Piece Of The Action' 'Man Of Steel' and many other non steinman songs are little mini stories in there own right too.

I wonder if Meat has ever thought about this idea before.

In Germany we have the Musical Tanz der Vampire, i think the most of you know that the music is from Jim, and it sounds really great.
He took songs like ; original Sin, Objects in the rear view..., total eclipse of the..., the Storm, and many other songs.
But its fantastic to hear all these Songs with other lyrics and other playing.
But at the end of august, the final curtain comes down and i hope they play it in another town.

Thanks a million for your enthusiastic comments .
I've still got the basic idea that I had for the musical tucked away indside my brain somewhere .
I'll sit down tomorrow and see if I can get it back.
If I can get it i'll let you know .

This is definitely a brilliant idea. Look how popular the Queen musical has been.

A Meat Loaf musical would be a huge success.

Default WWRY was great!

I weas fortunate enough to see WE WILL ROCK YOU earlier in the year and it was great!! HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED (there's a sci-fi flavour)

As far as Steinman and non-Steinman songs are concerned then yes, a MEAT LOAF musical would be quite easy to write (I could have a look later on). (The only problem would be gettig copyright over the songs, but that might not be too hard). Getting TANZ DER VAMPIRE to the West End (The original version, not the Mikey Boy rubbish) needs to be done

See ya,
Danny

Great story Mouse! - well done and thanks for sharing this with us all.

I like the way that you have tied all the songs into the story, though im sure that maybe more could be added.

Hi Renegade.
Glad you liked it .
One song I deperatly wanted to fit in is Life Is A Lemon.
But I just could't find anywhere I could put it in and keep the actual flow of the story going .
