Default The Rare Songs: 51. Decadent Wish

Rare Songs: Decadent Wish

This is one of the most actual rare songs. It appeared as the B-side track of the "DIST" single in 2003. It's a shame, that "Decadent Wish" wasn't part of the CHSIB album. It's an amazing song and I love it. It is too good for being a B-side track on a single. Very good one. And it has a bit of "Where The Rubber Meets The Road". Great!

9/10

Oops, almost went from my memory here, and giving this song a thumbs down. But then I played it, and realized I was wrong.
A average song, which is, IMHO, rightly left of the album. The bridge ("You can't even touch my body / I can't even touch your soul / But how do you know / I bet on me to turn you on again / I need to turn you on again") sounds horribly forced, it doesn't run smoothly, and brings the song down a bit.

I think it's better tha Love You Out Loud. I could compare with Amnesty Is Granted what I don't like. Two guitars and one drum...

My score: 5

Nothing special. the bridge is, indeed, horrible. plain rock to me. for a comeback after 8 years silence, i think it is not a good one. 5/10.

When I first heard this one together with "Did I Say That" I thought this was the more instantly appealing. "Did I Say That" has grown on me so much that I don't now like this more than that one but it is still a very good song.

I guess not being on the album that this may well become a "rare song". That would be a shame, in my opinion, as it deserves better than that

I'll give it 8 out of 10

It's the 'B'-side of the DIST single.

This song somehow grabs me, I haven't listened to it much, 'cause I don't have it yet on CD. But I like the chorus a lot.

I'm not gonna rate it yet though, have to listen to it more

Decadent Wish is a great song, I like it very much, and it is a pity that this one is not on the CHSIB record.
I give it a 8/10.

I think it's a great song .. one of my favourites .. very sexy words .. and I love the Texas twang on the final "LIPS!!" I was really surprised it didn't make the album or the first UK single. Interestingly I've had the impression that it's been one of the most requested "unreleased" singles in the recent Mercury survey. Interesting as it's only been released on the UM (Polydor) label, but it's one that of those songs that instantly stuck in my head .. found myself singing it when I woke up the first morning after I'd heard it.

On Amazon de, eBay FM .. or from me FM. I bought several to use as future prizes when I realised it wasn't being released on the UK album. We've a good clip from it in the CHSIB section of the Entertainment Suite btw.

Let's just hope they don't put it on that single... as I've said in that survey, the only unreleased tracks that are laying around are that Shadowland-song, and rumoured other CHSIB-outtakes... so that would be the only logical choice for an unreleased track as B-side, since the rest is, like you know, uhm, released.

I really like this song, its a good rocker! Shame i had to import the German version of DIST to get it (The German Amazon site is not easy to read if you haven't studied German in 5 years!)

I hum this song every day - it's gunpowder!
Such a pity it wasn't used. ALSO - what happened to
"Shadowland"? It's mentioned in an article for FUNHOUSE...

One of the most crackin' B-siders you're ever likely to hear.

I got it on import as it was never released here in the UK.

I've liked it from the beginning but I'm a bit fed up of it.

I suppose that "Decadent Wish" was not included in the CHSIB album because it doesn't fit in the album story line... IT JUST DOES NOT FIT IN !!!!!

Just rediscovered this song, and in my opinion it's a crying shame it didn't make it onto CHSIB! It's stronger than some tracks on the album, and it's got a chorus which just hokks itself into your subconcious and plays over and over again all day - brilliant!

8/10

Its on one of the Did I Say That? singles released in Germany. I got mine from the German Amazon site. Although I had to order both versions of the single cos I could only vaguely understand the German on the site. Not too expensive anyway - & you get Lawyers, Guns & Money thrown in on both singles too.
