I can imagine the conversations when little Billy got home from school that night ...

"hey Mum, Captain Jack Sparrow came in to see us at school today"
"yeah right Billy" ...

Based on the school I worked in I imagine the staff were in a worse state than the children when he turned up!!!

This is awesome - way to go Johnny, and the others who went with you! The teacher was on TV saying that all the pupils are writing a LOT of letters now - this could be the first of many celeb visits for that school

Is this not one of the coolest celebrity stories, like in nearly forever ! I LOVED it... and I love Captain Jack AND Johnny D !!... Now, if I can only entice him to help me and the office cat, Dini, with OUR mutiny at the dayJob ! ... ...arrr ... ... lol ...

This is cool Would be nice to see more celebrities do this sort of thing instead of wondering how much money they're going to get paid for opening up a supermarket, new childrens ward or whatever.

I know I got every single newspaper the day after.. Oh how I wish I was 9 and at school in London near where he was at though CJS isn't my favourite of Johhny's characters but I wouldn't say no !!

A fourth film?! Haven't we had enough pirates and vampires already in such a short space of time?

Speaking for myself, I thought the same re: POTC (I don't follow vampire films) after two and I was quite put out JD didn't win an Oscar for the first one. Then after the third, I thought, "okay, THAT'S it then", but now that he's going for the 4th ? I'm okay with it. Captain Jack is a fun character and JD seems quite fond of him as well, so... BRING ON THE FOURTH ! ... AND THE FIFTH ... ... Uh-oh, there goes the rum again ... ... lol ...

Thats awesome that JD went and surprised the school, a much better example to set than getting DUI's and busted for drugs, going to jail etc ! Our kids would have some great role models if more were like JD !

Hell no - you can never have too many pirates and vampires.

Well, Ok, Pirates 2 and 3 should have been combined and shortened into 1 entertaining and fast paced film, and they are not as good as the 1st, but they are still very good films.

Enough of pirates, says you. Bring on some more says I.
