Default Bad Attitude Live isn't being released on DVD despite what Wiki Says!

Has been announced according to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Att...E2%80%93_Live!

My first reaction is ~~~~ING YES! But I shall be a bit more reserved, as Meat put the brakes on the Wembley '82 reissue.

1. "Bad Attitude" — 5:25 (Paul Jacobs / Sarah Durkee)
2. "Dead Ringer for Love" — 6:43 (Jim Steinman)
3. "Jumping The Gun" — 4:30(Jacobs / Durkee)
4. "Midnight at the Lost and Found" — 4:12 (Paul Christie / Meat Loaf / Steve Buslowe / Dan Peyronel)
5. "I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us" — 9:34 (Steinman)
6. "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" — 16:52 (Steinman)
7. "Nowhere Fast" — 7:08 (Steinman)
8. A Tribute To Wells Kelly - 3:45
9. "Piece of the Action" — 5:10 (Jacobs / Durkee)
10. "All Revved Up with No Place To Go" — 10:25 (Steinman)
11. "Modern Girl" — 6:40 (Jacobs / Durkee)
12. "Two out of Three Ain't Bad" — 8:23 (Steinman)
13. "Bat out of Hell" — 12:02 (Steinman)

DVD Special Features
1. Commentary by Bob Kulick and Meat Loaf
2. Remastered Music Videos of "Modern Girl", "Piece of the Action", "Nowhere Fast", and "Surfs Up"

Very dubous, nothing on Eagle Rocks website about a forthcoming release, nothing too substantial on WIkipedia to match Eagle Rock's other forthcoming releases. Certainly falls into the category of beleive when I see it, even if I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It's been updated by someone calling themselves RoadRunnerChest, the same entity who added the details for the Wembley '82 DVD. It can't possibly be Wario pissing about because there's no spelling mistakes.

Don't get your hopes up on this DVD release folks. Looks very much like another red herring. Sadly the net is too full of people who waste their time and talents with hoaxes. Is it any wonder the likes of Wikipedia has got such a terrible reputation for accuracy?

Bob Kulick has heard nothing about this, he hasn't recorded any commentary and has no current plans to do so.

I knew that I was right not to bother getting excited about this although it would be nice to have it on DVD.

Unfortunately this means that I'm going to be more skeptical about new releases/re-releases until I actually see them for sale.

No offence to Wario but I found it a pretty damn crazy coincidence to see the Wiki listing for the London 82 show DVD release to be added on the exact same day that Wario posted on this very forum that he heard a rumour it was going to be released from some friend at his local Blockbuster store.

If true though, maybe they got some guy to impersonate Bob Kulick and Meat Loaf's voices.

We would be within our right to dispute the article or even make amendments as the line "it has been announced" is just completely vague if there is no corresponding source or info from Eagle Rock Entertainment itself. I would go as far as to change it to "Rumour has it" and see what Mr/Mrs RoadRunnerChest does in response if I could be bothered.

The optimist in me would suggest that perhaps Bob recorded something at the time that is being used as commentary. The realist in me realises it was stupid to get excited about this. Fans of other artists get good quality live stuff. Meat Loaf fans have to make do with crappily produced efforts like the Rockpalast DVD and the Wembley '87 CD or poor shows like 3 Bats Live.

What's even more strange is that for example a DVD that IS coming out soon and another that has already been released a few years ago by Jeff Beck on Eagle Rock don't get their own listing pages at all. So I really wonder who this RoadRunnerChest individual is, certainly not a representative of Eagle Rock by the looks of it. This inconsistency does not make any sense.

I wondered about that when Wembley '82 was announced as there was no hoohaa made surrounding the released of the Rockpalast DVD.

There's an echo round here

If Bob had recorded some sort of commentary at the time then he would have been years ahead of his time since those things didn't happen then in the days before DVD, he had nothing to do with the recording at the time (the show was co-produced by the BBC for broadcast on the TV as a Whistke Test Special hence the tickets for the night being issued for free from the BBC Ticketing unit in London).

I absolutely love this concert and feel it's worthey of a re-vamped DVD release but like many above me I just cannot get excited because the source is known to be so unreliable and often false so until it comes from either Meat or a more trustworthey source I'll take this for what it is, just a rumour !!

If it is a piss take, then the detail present in both this and the previous entry gives me an inkling of where to point the finger.

I find this very fishy to be honest. The RoadRunnerChest Wiki account was created on the same day a certain individual posted this.
Can I really believe that an employer at Blockbuster just happened to be browsing the net, stumbled upon the wiki page which just had been created that day, told one of his employees and then that employee texted his friend who just happened to be awake at 6.30am, our certain individual here all on the same day in the space of several hours. BTW this apparently all happened whilst it is the middle of the night in the USA.

I'm starting to get the impression that when Meat posted "I put a stop to that being released" it was perhaps something more generic about that recording ever surfacing again rather than it being a response to the deletion of the rumoured Eagle Rock DVD.

I've sent an email to Eagle Rock with the links and asked them to verify these releases.

2. Remastered Music Videos of "Modern Girl", "Piece of the Action", "Nowhere Fast", and "Surfs Up"
There is a music video for Piece Of The Action? The only "video" I know is a scene from Der Formel Eins Film in which Meat performs that song.

That and the fact that the alleged content rather appears like a fan's wishful thinking than something that's likely to appear on an official DVD are only two of the reasons why I'm suspcious of that announcement. It would be great if Bad Attitude Live would be re-released this way but I really doubt that.

I agree. Bad Attitude Live and Live with the MSO (the DVD) are the only excellent official releases of Meat Loaf live performances so far, in my opinion (though BA is a bit short).
The Live / In Concert video is okay but does not show Meat in his prime.
3 Bats Live is cool as long as you watch the fantastic band but do not pay that much attention to Meat as he apparently is not in good shape and doesn't seem to enjoy being on stage that night. It's really a pity because technically and with regard to content it's a good release (I bought the special edition incl. In Search Of Paradise and some merch and it wasn't that expensive). If Meat's performance had been better it would have been a great DVD.
Live at Rockpalast / Bat Out Of Hell The Original Tour: One of the rare documents of the Bat I era but many fans seem to be dissatisfied with the sound quality. I think Eagle Rock could have done a slightly better job on that and some other things, I have other Rockpalast DVDs in which they obviously put more effort and ethusiasm. All in all it's not that bad but maybe it could have been better.

And what have we gotten with regard to CDs so far?

- Live: Good performance but short and a product of the 1980s, the sound quality doesn't knock my socks off.
- Live Around The World: Nice compilation of songs from all periods of Meat's career as a singer, aside from the annoying, repetive crowd noise they felt the urge to put on each track. Not available anymore, doesn't show up on eBay often either.
- Bat Out Of Hell Live with the MSO: Another good release, unfortunately it consists only of the Bat I songs (+ Anything and CHSIB, depending on the release).
- The live CD from the Bat II Collectors Edition: Again Bat I songs only (+ Anything).
- 3 Bats Live: The only Meat Loaf live album I have avoided so far. It always appeared like a by-product of the DVD to me. Strange song selection, cheap appearance.
- Casa De Carne Live Album: Pretty good compilation, aside from the disproportionate crowd noise that spoils the atmosphere and the fact that I have to skip Anything.

So what's available with regard to official live recordings to the Meat Loaf fan these days? One DVD that provides good video as well as audio quality and a good performance (MSO) and a handful of CDs most of which aren't bad but lack something nonetheless.

So what does the fan do? Look for live stuff on the web - until a red pony comes galopping along, trampling down many a treasure...

If I had the missing footage of the BA show as well as decent versions of the Nowhere Fast and Surf's Up videos and the right to publish the stuff, I'd be happy to put out such a DVD. There is not that much footage on the market that provides an overview of Meat Loaf's career over the years. What you currently find on the shelves is Rockpalast (1978 ), MSO (2004) and 3 Bats (2007). The 1980s and 1990s are entirely missing, so two decades of Meat Loaf as a live performer aren't available. It's about time for a Meat Loaf DVD that provides great quality with regard to content, picture, sound and performance.
