This was only a promo concert, wasn't it????
Also he wasn't gonna do all the songs every night, as he said. I think they played the song they got down already, while still rehersing and working on the others.... I think the tour is gonna be great. Asha |

Don't get me wrong, the set list looks great and I know that it was only a promo concert ect I just wondered if the set list at the start of the thread was complete or if it was just the highlights.

To answer some of the questions. Sorry I was not able to respond earlier -watching this Party In The Park fiasco.
The set list I posted at the beginning is complete and not the highlights. Therefore if it is not on that list it was not done! Yes I was there. Enjoyed the show very much. Lost Boys and Golden Girls was not the complete song. It was about one and a half minutes from memory leading into the spoken Wasted Youth speech. Can't answer about who did the speech though - I assumed it was taped and that it was not Meat but don't quote me on that. I was some way back Do It was great to see live (though I am not too keen on the song). All the band did the song I think in some "monster masks". Again hopefully someone nearer the front can provide a better description than I can. The cue cards were not used on Tear Me Down A lot of preaching speech on Testify. Went on for a long time. The audience kept thinking the song had finished and then it started up again. Preaching style intro to "All Revved Up" as well They did Love You Out Loud and the vocal effects were there. How they did those I don't know - perhaps that little bit was a tape but I'm not sure Concert length was as I said exactly two hours. |

![]() Meat and the NLE well and truly rocked Plymouth and it was great to have so many of the new songs and to be lucky enough to hear Testify and Love You Out Loud live for the first time. CHSIB was much more solid than it sounded in Amsterdam and I'm sure, as usually happens with Meat's new songs, they will evolve as the tour progresses. I was also pleased to hear Lost Boys & Golden Girls (although it would have been nice to have heard the full version) and Love & Death & An American Guitar. The audience was pretty wild and Meat and the band received a fantastic reception for their first ever gig in Plymouth. The show was short by Meat's standards and ended with Paradise; no rock 'n' roll medley this time, but I believe Meat and co. had to hop on a plane back to London straight after the gig. Bearing in mind what Meat said about the Plymouth show being a warm-up for the tour, my only criticism would be that the sound was pretty awful where my friends and I were standing. I realise sound quality is always sacrificed when you stand so close to the stage (you can't have everything! :) ), but what we were hearing was so drum oriented we could hear little else. That said, it doesn't mean the sound wasn't just fine elsewhere in the hall. I was so excited things worked out that I could be there. I didn't know if I'd make it or not for sure until literally a couple of hours before I jumped in the plane to fly to Plymouth! Many, many thanks to Meat & the NLE for another fantastic concert experience. |
