![]() ![]() Their behaviour was disgusting. They are a disgrace to themselves and their parents, and I only hope all their parents get to see this footage and see what scum they have raised. |

Saw this on Reddit a few days ago.
It's not all doom and gloom, a vacation fund was set up for her to raise $6000 to send her on a dream holiday, I think it's supressed $500,000 now maybe $600,000. It was quite fantastic to see how this went from, hitting YouTube, to those lovable people over at a certain website, naming everyone of those kids and much more. Let's just say that those people on that website aren't that well forgiving. |

![]() A few kids are disgustingly cruel on a bus, and people from all over the world donate money to their victim. It's easy to see which side most of humanity is on, and what they think of the bullies on that bus. Quote:
![]() Is there any reason you don't want to post the name of the website? I saw a vid on youtube of one of the boys parents going to apologise to her, and he said that they had been victims of harasment ever sice it came out. My verdict on that - GOOD! The problem for bullies is that there's always a bigger and badder bully waiting round the corner. He should have payed more attention to bringing his kids up to be better than that. The thing I don't get (I for the life on me cannot understand this) is that there is a lot trouble caused by kids in gangs. Vandalism, violence, robbery, intimidation, but the parents claim that they don't suspect a thing ![]() Little Johnny has gone out and bought himself a new outfit that is head to foot black, inluding a coat with a hood and that can fasten over the bottom half on the face. He stands there looking like a freaking ninja (no offence ninja ![]() ![]() Then when he stumbles in after 11 o clock (on a school night) they don't give a seconds thought to what he's been up to. Parents of kids like that are either dumb or blind, and I say they are both. |

The reason I didn't post the website, it it's soemtimes reffered to as "The darkside of the internet". The reason for that is, it's completely anonymous, so it brings people in who post some things that people from outside their community may be offended.
However when good needs to be done some of the better people on there come through, and do good. Someone once posted a video of their cat being abused on YouTube... Some people on that website tracked him down from the colours of his curtains in the video, found MySpace pictures that matched evrything in the room, and forwarded it to the police. They've also taken out the F.B.I website on numerous occasions, but most recently to protest the Mega Upload removal. Which probably isn't the best thing, but I hate the way the F.B.I treated Kim Dotcom and Mega Upload. It's rival website Reddiit is a much happier place, Reddit is the front page of the internet, I will happily post a link to it, but click it at your own risk, as you will end up spending hours on there: http://www.reddit.com/ Some fantastic things on Reddit, including soem fantatsic "Ask Me Anythings" from celebrities to some fascinating people! |

![]() Now, I like to think that my son would never behave this way, and I can't tell you how punished he would be if it came out that he did, but I don't think that either the kids or their families should be harassed- that just perpetuates it. That doesn't mean that I think the kids should get off scott-free, not by any means. I think spending their summer doing community service might teach them a better lesson than death threats. |

Bullies on a bus are the least of all problems in this world. Sorry but it had to be said by someone.

Sadly this example, which became news when the video was posted on YT, is not a one-off .. just a pretty unpleasant one of something which happens all too often. Most do not get caught on video, posted on the internet, and become the subject of such publicity, and I agree with Julie .. that it has resulted in harrassment of, and death threats to, the families of the kids concerned isn't something I'd celebrate. Not only does it perpetuate the problem, it shows the vicious streak which seems to be in so many people, and how can we show contempt for cruelty and vicious bullying if we adopt the same approach ourselves when we are angered, however righteous that anger might be?
Yes Madagascar, there are far too many other evil things in the world, and some are worse than this. But bullying is vile imo, at every level it is practised. For one human being to taunt another to in order to put them down, dismiss them or their views with ridicule and make them feel hurt, whether to the point of tears or not, is simply cruelty of a nature which should be unacceptable in a society which has any pretence at civilisation. When it is practised on the young or those who are less confident, who have a less robust sense of self-esteem than some, it can have hugely crippling effects. Some may, as Chris says, be driven to despair, depression, suicide .. some may become abusers themselves as a result, just as is the pattern in some who are physically abused. So whilst there may well be other equally or even more grave problems in the world, this one is not in my view the least of all of them. What I am unsure of is who captured this on their phone and posted it on YT? Did these children actually video their verbal attack in pride? Which further staggers decent belief. Or was it an on-looker, who captured it but did nothing to halt the abuse? There was a time, not that many eons ago, when those who behaved decently would stand up and confront cruelty when it started, even the young. Now the bullies seem to have a sway that intimidates all around them. That is another problem we have, because when no-one will stand up against what they see is wrong, whether from fear of reprisal, from discomfort, or indifference, bullying and cruelty will continue and flourish. We see this in our society, we see it on the internet where companies who own sites like YT or those claiming to be "social networks", make scant attempt to deal with it in any really robust way. They are too busy making money from advertising to monitor what happens on sites which have become frighteningly large and anonymous; and even when they do respond and terminate accounts, all one has to do is set up a new account .. which can simply be in the same name as before with a couple of extra characters added. And parents imo DO hold a significant level of responsibility for the behaviour of their children. I agree that however hard you try there will be some children who step outside the bounds of acceptable behaviour, but in most cases we are not talking about these .. we are talking about an increasing number of children and adults who simply indulge in cruel behaviour because they can in a society which seems to value freedom of speech more than compassion, and the "right" to say whatever you like, whenever you like, wherever you like, to whomever you like above consideration for others' feelings and their right to be treated with some respect and simple decency. Like Meat's mother, my parents instilled in me the premise "If you can't say it nicely, don't say it at all". They also introduced me to Pastor Niemoller's words .. "First they came for ...." We stand silent, whether from fear or indifference as a society, at our peril. Today it might be another at the hands of the bullies, tomorrow it might be me .. or you. Caryl |

Of course he took the vidoe offline, or YT may have done, but it was quickly mirrored across the web. I think he thoght it was funny and the whole world would laugh at the poor woman. Well, I don't think the quite expected the reaction that it got. |

The case with the woman in the bus is different. If I have problems with other guests on a bus I should call on the bus driver or switch my perch. Problem solved.

This was the woman employed as monitor on the bus of children .. and bullies will target those who are perhaps less confident than you. She simply put up with it although it distressed her. It came to light because another sweet child captured it on his mobile phone and shoved it on the internet for merriment.
Still appalling behaviour, still bullying harassment, still not to be condoned nor excused .. in my view. No human being should set out to humiliate, torment, or mercilessly mock another human being for sport and odious amusement. The day we find that is something to be tolerated is the day we have lost our humanity imo Caryl |

In response to warrios post my son has and is still being bullied the latest being his first day back at school and he was punched in the face twice. He has been the victim of bulling from day one at school because he has a few disabilites hardly noticble but to the kids he could come from another planet all together, He is Intelligent as well.....Last year I had the shock of my life when my 12 yo son left me a note saying he wanted to kill himself I had no idea how bad the bullying had gotten and no idea how it was affecting him......Young or old Bullying is terrible. |
