Are you honestly saying that if Meat did a final tour in your country then came back for another you wouldn't be pleased or go to a show???

If Meat does anything he does it in style and will be not just greta but great. Why one earth would you want to say this when so many fans want to see him again so much?

Nor do you know it's a tour .. it could be he is now feeling confident and is considering re-instating the London residency. What he has said is he's rethought and wants to come back .. no information on what that might be .. just that a door we thought was closed has opened, and as Chloe says .. would you turn down an opportunity if he did another tour in the USA after ext summer

If it means being anticlimactic no. If I saw LAB in person I'd just be content

I personally don't think, for me, any Meat show would be anticlamatic! It will be a new, different show. For me the best show I have attended was the RAH concert, it was incredible....but it didn't make me think, 'Hey i'm not gonna watch another Meat show because it will be a let down in comparison!'

Whatever it is that Meat is bringing to the UK I'm sure it will be brilliant and I will certainly be there!!

As Meat hasn't said what he might do, simply that he has reconsidered and will come back to the UK without giving any more detail at all, I think making a decision on whether it's anticlimactic is a bit premature

Exactly .. that show will remain in my memory as spellbinding, with an amazing atmosphere and one of the very best. Didn't impact on my enjoyment of any others I've seen since. Just as an actor might deliver a superb performance in a film .. and still go on to deliver many more performances that are memorable for different reasons

RAH was awesome. I doubt I will see Meat perform in there or a finer venue ever again. But I wouldn't let that fact put me off seeing him in say a cow barn either.

Exactly!! As long as he wants to perform I'd want to see him .. because he wouldn't do it if he couldn't make it something great

Meat cares about not disappointing his fans to a fault, that's for sure. I was at the two Amsterdam shows he considers the worst of his career, and I was also at the incredible Sheffield LAB show. He is and probably always will be my favourite performer of all time, but it's a risk/reward scenario to me, especially without Patti spurring him on. I know 2 people who went to both LAB shows and the racecourse shows that loved the former and were very disappointed with the latter. I want the last time I see Meat to be a great memory. As it stands, it was.

I went to one of the race course shows with some friends .. we all loved it. Went to Vegas twice .. loved every show. I have continued to build great memories :) He needed no spurring on as far as we were concerned, and he was backed by an incredible band and great singers. I think those who were disappointed with the race course shows were probably expecting Patti to be there and that lay at the root of their disappointment. My friends were not, and the people around me were in the main like many fans .. they had gone to see Meat, they saw him, they were delighted.

The only reason anyone would be disappointed that Patti wasn't there other than familiarity is if they felt her absence affected the quality of the show and of Meat's performance. Yes some people don't care and some believe that longterm members of the NLE are fantastic singers and musicians right up until the point they either leave or are ousted from the group, at which point their contribution suddenly becomes negligible, replaceable and not worth missing. I'm well aware of that viewpoint, and that to some Meat is the only person on the stage that matters. Its not a viewpoint I share.

And no, that was not the only factor I heard for people disliking the shows. I heard variously that the new singers were clearly under rehearsed, the song selection was a little disappointing, Meat's voice wasnt as good as on LAB and that a nasty, embittered speech was made that soured things. Personally having heard about that I'm glad that my last Meat Loaf show was LAB rather than that one.

I didn't suggest Patti's or anyone else's contribution was negligible. For th race course shows the new singers had had limited rehearsal .. but I thought they were great, and Meat carried them through. I didn't her any embittered speech .. must have been at the one I missed .. and personally I loved the song selection, as did all those around me from the way they joined in and applauded. I do however go to see Meat Loaf .. so I can accommodate changes in the line-up behind him.

I saw Rocktellz & Coctails .. and that was brilliant in a different way to LAB. Looks as if Meat is aiming for March 2017 to return to UK and Europe .. I shall look forward to this .. and be getting myself there

To quote Carroll

And beat him when he sneezes:
He only does it to annoy,
Because he knows it teases.

I disagree to some degree. I can't really say what I want to here. But let's just say that by Meat's own statements he had numerous health and vocal issues during some of his tours. Who was there to step in and know exactly what to do depending upon the situation almost it seemed intuitively?

Yes I am sure the "replacements" are fine as were the Goffs and Pam Moore, etc. but Patti kicked it up a notch beyond.

A lot of Meat's interviews around the time she returned he said letting her go was a mistake.

He said he took responsibility for agreeing to things the record company wanted, and he regretted that. I don't think he ever referred to "Letting her go" .. in fact I recall at the time Kasim wrote publicly that she had pulled out of the Bat 3 tour at short notice. She may well have felt she had good reason, but she was not "let go" but chose to leave.

As to her going the final and last time .. time to let that one lie I think. Yes. she made a splendid contribution when she was with Meat, and yes, vocally on stage she was a rock, and now Meat continues, backed by the splendid NLE

Yup, couldn't agree more. In fact I dare to say that:
A -I am happy that my last concert was with Patti. It was a perfect farewell!
B -I won't travel abroard for a Meat show anymore because Patti isn't part of the band anymore. For me she delivered at least 30% of the entertainment value and, for me, was always more than just a member of the suporting band.

I believe I compared her situation to that of Ricky Samboa and Bon Jovi a while back.

And although the following sounds like it, I mean no disrespect to Cian and co, but the Races and Vegas could have used a bit of Patti, from what I've seen and heard of it...

Meat is a wonderful Man, and is a rock to many others. If he had a rock in Patti, and that situation is no longer in the same capacity, I am sure someone else will help fill that space. I think Paul already has for some time Another wonderful guy, and their bromance is awesome.

Cheers guys and gals, lots of exciting things to come
