I had my comments deleted off the video. Thing is the video clearly has a ghost track, so denying it and insulting everybody that has commented is very unprofessional. Can't imagine another recording artist in the world doing this.

I don't know if it has ghost track in the back but Meat sounds much better than in the last years. It's far from good but far from bad also.

He definitely has his voice playing through speakers at that point...It sounds louder and stronger (and recorded) suddenly, and then goes back to his live voice. You can actually hear him singing along with it live, so its not just the track playing by itself. Sorry you had to get such flack for saying it. And know you what, I don't mind that he's using that a bit, even if it's to keep shows consistent if his voice varies! But yeah denying it seems goofy. Maybe it's the wording - is ghost track actually waht that is called? Maybe It's a misunderstanding somehow...

Got to a agree with Stretch - there are plenty of singers who use backing tracked vocals in sections for high harmonies or to keep pitch and fill out the sound. Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. springs to mind, and his vocals are generally fantastic. Def Leppard have been known to use tapes for harmonies, too.

No i'm not mortal, luckily as he took the majority of the abuse! I agree that there is nothing wrong with playing audio over your singing at particular points in your concert, it didn't bother me when he did it on the first verse of took the Words on the Last at Bat tour, however it is inexcusable to go on the comments page of a clip of your concert and dish out abuse to your fans watching it. Even resorting to "daring" him to come back stage and say it to his face! Can you imagine Springsteen or Mick Jagger ever resorting to this kind of thing? Very quick way to lose fans and respect.

I had a run in with Meat in the past over something I wrote on another forum and it was not nice but I've gotten over that and Meat too and I will say this...

Never seen Springsteen personally use social media or respond on a fan forum before though. Don't know about Mick.

Sure you look at the bad side of his response there and it may be bad indeed (even though it seems resolved) but look at it this way: Meat has given us a lot of insight into what is going on etc and also been very humble and thanking people and his fans publicly and directly on this forum many times.

If people continually look at the bad sides of where Meat is at now (his performances, his music, his responses on the net) I absolutely don't see a point to being "a fan" any longer and indeed maybe it is best they take a hike. To me that is not disrespectful, it's just being realistic. Just move on. It's best for everyone surely. If people hang around (Which I do think some are doing whilst constantly thinking and responding in a negative way regardless of what is coming up next and how good it is) to me they are simply trolling, and that is indeed hurtful and annoying, so I can understand some of Meat's reaction there. Some of the Dutch forum I feel has turned into trolling now and it is not right when it carries Meat's name in my opinion.

Meat has every right to say what he wants to say.

Just as WE all DO.

PLEASE stop lambasting the man over and over.

I'll just say this: 'Balance', and leave it there.
Someone else can pull you up on the 'not a real fan/take a hike' thing later.

You are incorrect. If Meat Loaf does a good show I praise him, if he releases a good album I praise him. I am a fan of his music and have spent considerable money seeing him live. But just because you are Meat Loaf doesn't mean you can call anybody whatever you like, offer them backstage in a threatening manner, tell them to go "twirl on a stick", call them "stupid", tell them to "go F*** themselves", call them a "coward". Considering everybody who was commenting was a fan who has spent money seeing him live and on his albums, its disgraceful.

Anotherday says Meat Loaf can say whatever he likes, but I ask you, if I or anyone else said any of the above things to you would you give such a laid back response or would you be furious?

I'll leave it at that before it all boils over.

He is 100% using a ghost track for parts, i dont think theres anything wrong with that at his age, and its great to see him sounding better each gig into the tour. His reaction and comments are outrageous, he needs to not respond.

Funny, when you were so upset about Meat you told those Dutch forum members how much of a 'suck-up' place this had become. Now you feel differently about things you're telling people here that it's becoming a trolling place over there.

Their opinions never changed and are still positive and negative depending on how they feel about issues. You were happy to write your own frustrations there because you wouldn't be judged. But now that many there disagree with your current opinion it's a hell-hole...

As for Meat's replies on YouTube. He shouldn't have written the comments the way he did. Of course it's great when an artist replies personally. But in cases like this Meat only seems to reply when he feels angered. And then his posts go beyond reason. Make hm come off like a madman.

With his succes he should be above it and (I said it before) get a better PR person to handle matters like this. Meat is way to emotional for it.

I think he meant the part where you tried to imply that he hasn't posted anything positive here before.

Where did I write that? I only posted I didn't want to discuss his voice here as I previously got attacked and that was 2 1/2 years ago. I also posted unfavourable reviews of HCTB, which I've done here too and that I was upset about Patti leaving the band, again I posted that here. But unlike yourself I got over that in time. And I see you easily also forget all the concert reviews I posted there including Manchester. You paint a very one sided picture of my posts over there. Thanks Adje. Great guy.
Regardless of things. Opinions can change. I never maintained a 100% negative record, I admit. Does this make you sad?

The less people there are now, the less positive the opinions now are to the point it was only me being positive about the current tour. If that is the case why not close the site. Even the owner doesn't seem to give a shit anymore.
Making jokes he cannot half fill a stadium was something I never was involved in. Yes I do think that is OTT and disrespectful and quite far from the truth anyway. And yes I call that trolling because it seems people are taking enjoyment out of such posts with smiley faces. I just don't get why people repeatedly come back when EVERYTHING is supposed to be bad or negative.

Yet you still follow this "madman" all the time regardless of the years of criticism you are partaking in.

Maybe there is a beauty in it not being a PR person.

Talking about painting a one sided picture. And at least you can defend yourself here in oposite of the people on the Dutch forum you just insulted with your one sided view.

I guess now all my comments have been negative over the last 5 years? I stated several times how, for example the Hang Cool tour brought back my joy in seeing Meat LIVE. How the Zwolle concert was a great closure after two terrible Dutch shows in Amsterdam and how I personally was happy seeing Meat in London. I believe I have been mainly very positive about that entire tour. Have I not? Didn't I advise the Dutch people to see Meat in Zwolle?

I aso stated how All of me reminded me of the CHSIB album and that I enjoyed HiaH (apart from some songs).

Those and many other reasons make me still follow Meat Loaf.

Now, that we resolved this let's go back to the 'madman' issue. If Meat gets angry and posts, many times he comes back to appologize about the way he said stuff. Because his emotions get the better of him. Often his angry posts are incoherent and not always filled with facts. It's one thing if a 'follower' posts stuff like that but in the case of an artist it can hurt him.

That is why it would be good if Meat has someone read his anger replies first before putting them on line, for the World to see.

No I don't think they have all been negative at all. But I do think it is a bit sad there sometimes just seems to be a tendency to get enjoyment out of negative things. And this is not an attack, just an observation, and something I do think the Dutch forum is now doing. I have been involved in that in the past too I agree but come on only coming back to joke about bad things surely is a bit sadistic not? And when Meat has to read repeated negative things (R. once posted a compilation of criticisms which shone a different light on things) it kinda explains an explosive reaction.

Andrew, you've been going to that Dutch board for many years. And you know as well as me that the jokes have always been there. You also know that a large amount of it is sarcasm and many of the people on that board use it in both ways. Either if it's positive or negative conserning Meat.

Your observation may be right that the board is less positive. But always based on something (they and I concern) valid.
They were positive on the LAB show and mixed about the last 2 albums. And always allow anyone to speak their mind without any form of censorship.

And, as we stated a few years back, with you in the conversation there, I believe, it's also easier for the Dutch board because they don't need to worry if Meat gets upset about anything written. For a while MLUKFC had people saying 'Don't say that, if Meat reads it he might not come back'.

You, more than anyone on this board, I believe, must know the difference between the British and Dutch culture when it comes to sarcasm, point straight and humor. And I think that the Dutch forum reflects that Dutch community very well on it's board.

Thank you Warrio .. I just think as long as

Some exercise their right to continually find fault with most of what Meat does now, say what he should and shouldn't do, tell him how he should run the business he has managed rather successfully for over 3 decades, whether he should tour, what songs he should sing or release ..

Some artfully open doors for others to jump through ..

Some, despite claiming to be long term fans, still seem unable to see that Meat puts so much of himself into everything he does that he is unlikely to be able to separate criticism of his work from himself .. or that the passion he shows in and for everything he does means he will never "grow a thicker skin" or shrug off criticism that can hardly be viewed as constructive ..

Some who as Andrew says, seem now to continually look at the bad sides of where Meat is at now (his performances, his music, his responses on the net), yet continue to post in a fan forum dedicated to the man, or seek out bootleg recordings on YT to post harsh criticism ...

Then I am entitled to point out the bleeding obvious ... Don't act surprised when you poke the bear and it either reacts .. or stops visiting

What really amuses me are the people who say 'blah blah, you only focus on the negative things', and then compile a list of purely negative things about people who post on this forum, despite the numerous and recent positive posts they make, too.

You're going to have to deal with the fact that people will not be bullied - directly or indirectly, or even passive aggressively - into not stating their honest opinion. And again, as long as there's no ill will involved and it isn't malicious, it's a little immature to attack people just because you don't like or agree with their opinion.
