Pat Benatar (If there was a 6th female spot I'd go with Germany's Nena) Bands: 1. Queen (Only with Freddie and some of the posthumous stuff. Brian May solo in 1990s was good too till space and badgers were more important than his music) 2. Dire Straits 3. Roxette 4. De Dijk (Awesome Dutch band. If they had done their stuff in English I reckon they would have been world famous) 5. Tie between Aerosmith, ACDC and GnR Lucky to have seen most of these artists live! |

As bad as this sounds I genuinely don't have any favourite female artists, some of the music I listen to has amazing female vocalists but I wouldn't really say I have any favourites :/

I have to say first how many of these lists on the male side are pretty much identical which says something about music style and resonance with people.
Anyway... Male - Meat Loaf, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Bryan Adams, Chris Rea (Johnny Cash needs an honourable mention) Female - Kate Bush, Katy Perry, Iggy Azlea (somehow considering i hated her after her first couple of singles), Cher, Lady Gaga. Groups - The Killers, My Chemical Romance, Muse, Bon Jovi, Roxette (although any male vocal group that covers well known songs can jump in there at any time such as Il Divo et al) |
