Default UK singles

I'm trying to compile my own 2 CD set of all of Meat's UK singles in order, though finding exactly what was released and what order has been tricky, especially the early singles. Here's what I've come up with and hopefully people can verify?

1. You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth
2. Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad
3. Bat Out Of Hell
4. I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us
5. Dead Ringer For Love
6. Read 'Em And Weep
7. If You Really Want To
8. Razor's Edge
9. Midnight At The Lost And Found
10. Modern Girl
11. Nowhere Fast
12. Piece Of The Action
13. Rock 'N' Roll Mercenaries
14. Blind Before I Stop
15. Special Girl

1. I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)
2. Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through
3. Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are
4. I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth)
5. Not A Dry Eye In The House
6. Running' For The Red Light
7. Is Nothing Sacred
8. Couldn't Have Said It Better
9. Man Of Steel
10. It's All Coming Back To Me Now
11. Cry Over Me
12. Los Angeloser

While everything from the '90s-onwards is straight forward in terms of single edits/mixes, the earlier singles are less clear. Maybe Wario is the man to help? :)

Your best best is discogs.com

Meat Loaf singles on Discogs.com

Look at each single and then check if there was a UK version etc.

Very useful website thank you!

Apparently according to this site there was a UK CD single for A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste but I don't recall it at the time? Maybe it was a withdrawn single in favour of Is Nothing Sacred?

It definitely exists. The B-side is No Matter What and Two Out Of Three live from the Hudson Theater.

If you want to do this properly then you'll need both versions of Two Out Of Three. One is easily available on cheapo compilation albums. The other, shorter version (3.50) has a different mix and was only released digitally on an obscure 70's CD.

I concur with the Evil One, I remember buying it in 1999 - I believe it came with an A3 poster of the "Very Best of" bat on a black background.

I've found that there was a European CD single of Kiss / No Matter What, but only a UK promo of that, not an actual retail single.

The image of the Very Best Of bat against a black background appears on the Is Nothing Sacred part 2 UK CD single, which also came with a poster.

The 'different mix' was actually todd's original mix, which was then edited and faded out for the single release you mention. It doesn't have the synth overdubs iirc

No problem Cult Of Byron I've been learning a lot about the singles along the way! I didn't realise there were so many different mixes, edits and versions... would make a great official compilation.
