If I remember rightly.......(and I'm sure someone will correct me if I don't)
I recall a nice thank you from the TOTP producer saying he'd have Meaty back anytime and it was a great experience

Yes Sin, that's right .. and I seem to recall something being said about a TOTPS special .. perhaps they'll time it for when he's here on tour ..

Selling out most of the arenas in the UK btw would be something I'd call a runawaysuccess

I see Andi Peters has been put in charge of TOTPS to revamp it. It will be a live show on FRidays, and they are cutting back on studio recordings .. however perhaps an idea to email Andi and point out that Meat is on tour in the UK .. and that we were hoping that they would have this very nice man back when he was over here again .. plus he has a new single out ))

You can mail on:

I don't mean to sound harsh here but Meat does not fit in with the image of TOTP.
This isn't a critisism of Meat in any way but the programme is actually aimed at the young people market, with acts such as Busted and Attomic Kitten being the main highlights of the show, especially now Andi Peters has taken over.

Meat is more than likley to be seen on TOTP2 as this show is aimed at the more mature audience.
TOTP2 is a much better show in my opinion and I would much rather see Meat on this show as it's for people who appreciate good timeless music not just one-hit wonder boy or girl bands.

The one music show I would love to see Meat apper on is Later with Jools Holland as this is a great music show, with a good mix of music where bands and artists get the chance to perform a few songs and maybe the odd old song.

Well if TOTP want to appeal to a young audience then Meat Loaf is definately the way to go. My kids are 11, 9, 6,and 3 and the 3 older ones love Meat and went to the NEC last night (their choice) and loved it. In fact my eldest sold our old car to pay for the tickets :o .

TOTP2 is retrospective, and not about current releases.

Meat has appeared on TOTP recently, and as has been said, there are plenty of younger fans. As to the ability of many of today's "stars" .. I agree you may doubt their ability to sing live .. I am just passing on what Andi Peters says he is going to do .. and my thought is that he should be pleased to get a singer of Meat's calibre who CAN sing live !! :)

hear hear! being a young person myself i feel more youngsters should listen to good music by people who can actually sing- therefore Meat Loaf should be back on TOTP to show what a real performer and singer should be like

A lot of kids today don't appreciate good music that is why the charts are in such a state, because the likes of Pop idol and all the other rubbish has taken over.
I haven't seen Meat on TOTP for years although he has been on TOTP2 which IMO is a far better programme as it's about REAL music.

I understand what some of you are saying about how Meat would show the younger generation about what a real performer is like and that some kids do love Meat but I just feel Meat doesn't belong amongst the likes of Blue, Westlife and Busted - Meat is far better than that.

I agree that TOTP2 is better i can't stand TOTP some of the "songs and lyrics" are so hard to understand. Give me singers like Meat Loaf who can hold you spellbound with the way they sing

They said the same thing in 78 and in 93. Still the bats were huge success and popular amongst the kids.

I think the reason why the kids of today don't appreciate good music is because they are not exposed to it. The radios play dance, garage, rap etc etc. They need to be exposed to everything from Mozart to Meatloaf from Greensleeves to Guns n Roses. Let them make up their minds as to what they like. Not be force fed the c**p that passes for music, they can't make any choices if there is no choice in the beginning.

That's right but they were both albums and Top Of The Pops is a singles chart based show and I can remember how I felt the day that Anything For Love was knocked off the number one spot by........Mr Blobby!!

Meat was on TOTP not too long ago as CHSIB got released- it was a great performance but i agree, Meat shouldn't be on it- TOTP2 is so much better.

I don't remember him being on TOTP but I do remember him performing CHSIB and Deadringer on TOTP2.

I actually don't mind what show he is on cos any TV coverage of Meat is great to see but I just don't have any respect for the UK singles charts but this is not what the topic is about so I won't rant on about it, so back to the topic itself - does anyone know of any other TV shows meat may be on?

Meat loaf is supposed to be on Children in Need this Friday, whether he turns up is another matter (as you might already know through the other messages that he is currently in hopsital), I will wait to see if he is on, if I remember rightly it was due to be on between 12am and 12.30am.
