Hi, friends! Well, this is, indeed, a very worrisome time for all of us out here! Much too long without news of Meat and what's happening with him right now.
I hurt inside for all of you who were there on Monday to witness what happened. I wasn't there to see it, so it is not etched in my eyes or in my brain in that way. But enough of my dear friends from this forum were right there toward the front and because of them and their stories and the photos I have seen so far, it is forever etched in my heart! I feel so bad for Meat and what he has been going through--not just now, but for most of this tour, which has been plagued with problem after problem. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be doing your best, giving all you have, in front of thousands of people and to finally know that you have no more to give. It makes me cry. I feel so bad for those of you who have missed concerts; those of you who are still waiting and wondering if yours will be postponed as well. I heartily agree with Icwuke and Sin and those of you who are working toward MOS's success in the UK. I've been trying to do my bit from here by sending out emails and purchasing my own copy. It would be a lovely 'gift' to give Meat at this time--to get the song played AND purchased! In addition to all this happening with Meat and everyone here, my second oldest dog (nearly 14) was just diagnosed with a cancerous tumor and I am trying to deal with that, as we get ready for her upcoming surgery on December 4th. So, I have to admit my heart has been torn in all directions this past week!! It's been a down time! But most of you who know me, understand that I am a great believer in the power of the positive--Positive thoughts, prayers, meditations--it goes by so many names--whatever it is that YOU want to call it. And I have never believed it more than I do right now. I believe there is more that we, here at the forum, can do to help Meat at this time, while we wait for what lies ahead for him and for us! So, with R.'s kind indulgence, I would like to make the rest of today a Get Well Meat Loaf Webathon here in this thread. What I'd like to do is spend the day with all of you, sharing and enjoying Meat at the various times and stages in his life. Everyone is welcome to add to this thread in a positive way with photos, stories, articles, get well wishes, or just talk about what other people are sharing--whatever you want to share--these are just suggestions of possibilities. And with this, I have one favor to ask: Every time today that you come to this thread to read or see or hear something new, or to add something of your own, please take a moment to send a prayer, thought, wish--whatever it is you choose to do in whatever way you choose to do it--in Meat's direction. If you have other Meaty friends or have contact with other Meaty fans, please invite them here today to be a part of this. The more people sending positive vibes his way today, the better!! And perhaps, we will be lucky enough to hear some good news in the course of the day and we can celebrate that together! I know that is everyone's hope!! As for my part, I'm sort of doing this on the fly today, as we go along, so I'm not going to be posting new things on any kind of regular basis--just as I get them done. And I hope you all will continue to stop by during the day to see what's new and to be an active part in this. Okay. Are we ready to get going? I'm going to kick off our GET WELL WEBATHON with one of our favorites! Hope you enjoy it and I hope that this will be a good, positive day for us here and most of all, that your thoughts and prayers and wishes will make their way to Meat and help him in his struggle to be well and strong again!! But it can only be so, if you all participate. Let's make this a special day in which we work toward this same goal together!! FEEL BETTER SOON, MEAT!!! Sending love to each and every one of you, ![]() MB xxx |

Dear, dear MB,
We have been through a lot, these past months. Good times (a lot of them fortunately) and also some really bad times. I read you comments about Dottie and ofcourse couldn't agree more. But you also have the same qualities, my dear friend. And I truly hope your precious dog will be allright. I had planned to promote MOS today. But right now, I think it is better to listen to Heaven for a few times...and just cry. Monday was very emotional. Ofcourse this is not the first time I cried since Monday. Just listening to this beautiful version made me very emotional, I better just cry for a bit. Then 'get up from the ground' and make these phonecalls...thank you! We are all in the same boat here, news about Meat's health is what we want. I pray it will be good news! xxx Mariella |

The Neverland Express Newsletter No. 8/9 circa 1985
Author Unknown On Vacation Thought I'd lost him for a while, his face I could not see, Then from over the waves I heard him reaching out to me. Along the sands beside the shore, above the cliffs so sheer, He was beside me all the time, unseeing, yet so clear. Watching the tides go back and forth with sand between my toes, His voice still reeling in my head why, GOD only knows. I'm trapped inside a silken cage in a web so subtly spun, and even though ther is no escape, I have no desire to run. I've found heaven here on earth even though I get no rest, And in this place I'll willingly stay, C'os MEATLOAF is the BEST. Maybe these words 'thought I'd lost him for a while, his face I could not see, then from over the waves I heard him reaching out to me' will bring some comfort to the fans on here who have all been affected by the events of this week. Our prayers go out to Meat in the hope that soon he will back where he belongs within this community. |

Kathy Righelato M/N 4 That was a night to remember and one I will never forget. The lights, the crowd, we're all waiting, But there ain't no sign of you yet. the beat of the drums, keyboards and guitars, and the thrill as you walk On the stage, Your voice resounding throughout the place, The band is at last on the rampage. Bad Attitude, Dead Ringer for love Midnight at the Lost and Found, You fill our senses with your rock and roll, As zest and vitability abound. The girls shine like pearls in the light, Your back is steaming with sweat, And we are all going wild, clapping and singing, Because we haven't seen half of it yet. The band plays all those memorable tunes, Our spirits are high in laughter and song, As you stand on the edge, just a few feet away, Hands reach out to touch, but then you have gone. Every note is played to perfection, The air is electric, silver sparks are flying, Piece of the Action and Modern Girl, But the firey embers are slowly dying. As the evening draws to a close You return in a golden shirt, to sing with all your might Two out of Three ain't Bad and Bat out of Hell, What a way to end the night. |

Neverland Express circa 1986
'Feelings' with thanks to Ruth Roberts M/No 430 First heard his voice in a crowded place, Knew not his name nor his face, And all the world around me faded, As into my life he invaded. His voice it blew my mind, A stronger drug I've yet to find. I was more addicted and needed more, More, to fill me to the core. He comes to me in the dead of the night, I hear his vocals but cannot fight This awesome power that takes it toll, Over my body, my heart, my soul. Then I knew what I had to do, Tread the paths of the chosen few. From today and into tomorrow, He will lead and I will follow. So now I have a link with others, Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers, And even though he's miles away, I now feel his presence near each day. He could a mere mortal take over me. He's not a god, so why do we Crave more, more and more I say, For the voice of MARVIN LEE ADAY Sentiments echoed by everyone of us on this site. May our love and prayers speed along the highway of the life, to Meat in our wish to hear his wonderful voice again, and to see his presence back where it belongs on stage, enthralling us all. |

Oh, what beautiful additions to this thread already!!
Thank you, Rosie!!! I'm so glad you're here!!! Yes, Mariella, I expect there will be more than a few tears shed throughout the day, not only by those who witnessed Monday's concert, but by the rest of us, as well, who love the man dearly and are so worried for him!! But this is good!! Good to get them out. Every tear that escapes is one that we do not have to keep buried inside!! Let them flow!! Just as I am hoping those positive thoughts and feelings are flowing toward Meat!! We have already had more than 80 people come through here, so that's 80+ little prayers for his recovery and well-being!! Dottie, oh, sweet Dottie!! Thank you for those beautiful poems!! So many of us do not have access to those early issues and it's a joy to see some of what was in them!! Thank you for taking the time to type all that out!! And they are SO appropriate for now!!! I think we are off to a wonderful start, don't you?!! Are you ready for the second WEBATHON special? Well, here it is. Some of these you may have seen before, but if you're like me, you never get tired of watching or listening to Meat!! Enjoy! FEEL BETTER SOON, MEAT!!!! Keep the love flowing... ![]() MB xxx |

I am not great either with poems, but would like to say, Meat, you have brought a great deal of hapiness in my life, when I listen to your music, I drift away to another place which is a magical. Your music means so much to me. So please, before continuing with the tour, get your self better first. Even if it means cancelling the tour, I am sure not single one of your fans will mind. All we want to see is you a feeling a lot better than you feel at present. Get Well Very Soon, we all love ya and all the best.

Last nite at the gym i talked to an old friend of mine. He started the conversation about Meat Loaf in the hospital. He was at the NOTP he said. He said the NOTP really sucks UNTIL Meat Loaf came on stage. He said that he really rocked the house there and he liked his performance very much. And remember: he is not a fan at all.
It really made me proud last nite and i have never been so active in the gym! ![]() A collegue of mine was also at the notp and so was my mother in law. They both have said the same thing about NOTP. They thought it was mindblowing. |

I don't have anything close to the beautiful things that all of you have posted so far. But, I'd like to make a little contribution to the effort.
I received this from a friend during a difficult time in my life and I'd like to pass the sentiment on to Meat. Moments In Life There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. I hope this message touches the heart of just one person out there and encourages them to keep going. Life is just too short to sweat the small stuff. It's OK - pout a little at life's trials, pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and keep going. Something wonderful is waiting. With much affection to all - Debbi V |

Oh, friends! This is amazing! I'm not sure I'm going to make it through the day--so many of you have already gotten me to cry!! Beautiful thoughts and poems.
And please, don't be afraid to join in this thread!! If you don't have a poem, that's fine! If you don't have a story to share! That's okay, too! All this WEBATHON is about is sending positive thoughts and wishes to Meat all day long. So, if all you want to do is say, "Get Well, Meat," and do that in your own words and from your heart, then that's perfect!! This is something any and all of us can do!! When I started this post, we have already had over 170 people here. Meat has GOT to be feeling the warmth by now!! ![]() Mariella, you and I have always felt the same about "Testify"!! I think we always will. There's just something very special about this song!! So, here it is for everyone, from a recent performance. Enjoy it, dear friends!! FEEL BETTER SOON, MEAT!!! From The Neverland Exprees, newsletter 12, 1987 and also Lance Eveningspost, august 20, 1987.
ThANKS MEAT LOAF-accident victim's touching message A teenage accident victim has recorded a touching message of thanks to the rockstar who helped rescue him from the brink of death. Craig H. sank into a deep coma after an horrible motorbikecrash and his chansec of survival looked bleak until heavyweight singer Meat Loaf sent a special "get well"tape to him. (...) His mother said: "i never thought he would walk again and allthough i don't think he will ever be the same, He has improved a lot. He has always been a great fan of Meat Loaf and i am sure that the message helped him out of his coma. (..) A spokeswoman from Arista said: Meat Loaf was very touched at the time and wanted to do everything he could do to help Craig. He will be over the moon that he was able to make a small contribution to the boy's recovery. |

MB, what a great idea- thanks for starting this thread. At my church, we pray for missionaries on their birthday- many of them say that they feel so much strength on that day that they save challenging projects for that day. This message is similar to that for Meat, I think- all this positive energy and love must help him somehow.
Meat is such a big part of my life, a reassurance in bad times, a wake up call each morning as I drive to work, a friend celebrating with me as I return home from work each day. (Oops, I was playing Paradise from the Storytellers CD so loud yesterday I was shaking the windows of my car and attracting the attention of my neighbor who is a local policeman! ![]() Bless you, Meat- we care about you so very much and just want the best for you. Hi again! Thank you, Bart, Sherrie and Kezzina!! We've now had over 215 people come by here so far today! That's a lot of positive love going his way!!

I am gonna say it again. My daughter is almost 4 years old and she knows all the words now from DIST and she is learning the words for CHSIB. And she likes the way you kissed Thomas Gottschalk.
If you are still doing concerts after the next 2 years. I am gonna take her with me to a concert of you. She already wanted to go with me to Trier and Oberhausen ![]() ![]() ![]() |
