Should Meat do theatre?
I'm going to see Tanz Der Vampire in Hamburg in April and it got me thinking 'Should Meat loaf do some theatre after he finishes his world tour?
I don't mean straight away and obviously after he's got his arse in the studio for Bat 3, cos we all know how he loves the studio He can sing, act, dance a little (maybe not), done plenty of films etc etc etc, so why not combine all of them and do theatre. Whadyathink? Pud:o] |

He's done theatre before and I'd certainly plan to be there to see him do it again!

Well, since Hamburg's a personal bust, I guess I would have to break out the water wings to see our favorite fella in the theatre!
Trouble Does that include if it happened to be on the other side of the pond? Di .... who has been attempting to drag Trouble on a roadtrip for a good long while now..... [/quote] NEXT TIME DON'T TIE ME TO THE BUMPER OF THE CAR!!! *lol* |

Hmmmm....
I'm not really sure to be honest. Bit undecided. Part of me says yes, it'd be fantastic to see him treading the boards again, but then another bit of me thinks that he'd just be completely wasted on theatre. I know that Meat loves theatre work, and if that's whats really gonna make him happy, then i'd be pleased for him, but for me, i think it might be a bit of an anti - climax. |

I wonder - when is the last time Meat went to the theatre anyways? ;-)
I'd say, let him to Bat 3, and all the promo stuff after that. Once he's counted his pennys from that, weight up his retirement fund, then let him think about his future. He'd certianly be good anyways. A lot of people who can't "properly" act go into theatre, and some who can act, but can't "properly" sing. So Meat appears to be a perfect combination of these two. He'd be a crowd puller if nothing else. But, thumbs up from me, eventually... :-) |

I believe Meat would be superb in theatre .. hell, that's what he does :) And it's about the work for him rather than the money. But given his love of movie making, and that he says after this tour is over he wants to get back to films, I suspect he'd consider a theatre run would tie him down too much for too long. But if ever he did .. I'd be there!!

How about musical films? All you have to do is look at such recent hits as Evita, Moulin Rouge, Chicago and no doubt the forthcoming Phantom Of The Opera to realise that there's a market for them. Meat would have best of both worlds and keep his hand in recording CD's.

I imagine he'd jump at the chance for a lead in a screen musical .. and I'd be jumping right after him :)

I think that it would be nice to see him in theatre but at first he have to record BAT3 and then to think what to do in the future. But like I said he would be wonderful in theatre.

Personaly, I don't think Meat could contain himself to the same role every night and not want to adlib to get a laugh. But if he could and wanted, to than I think he should do what makes him happy.
I would rather see him on the big screen. That way all of us can see him and not just a few lucky ones that could afford to travel, and see him. Or better yet.......HIS OWN TV SHOW!!!!! Man I would be glued to the tv and taping every show. I think that would be the greatest ever! Mary |

I'd love to see him in theatre - musical or straight role it wouldn't bother me. I'd be there on the front row with my red hankie.
