Meats physical strength
Has anyone ever wondered if Meat has good strength? I mean, he always plays the big hulky man who has the strength of an Ox in film.
in Black Top - he was really strong and tough, he throw a big guy right up on a bar. in The Squeeze - Meat Loaf plays the mobster who beats the hell out of Micheal Keaton, punchs threw a solid wood door and throws Rae Dawn Chong 15 feet threw the air. in Roadie - he head bunts Allan Graf so hard that it knocks him out cold, as well as break his bosses hand and bending a microphone stand in half. - also, Meat got so mad at Steinman one time that he picked up a baby grand piano and threw it down and busted all the foot pedals on it! |

Whilst filming for the Rocky Horror Picture Show the motorbike fell on the stuntman and Meat lifted it into the air and shifted it- he said when he tried to do it later he couldn't. Also he says how when he was younger he'd loose it and get into fights with three people against him and win so I'd say yeah, he's pretty strong.

Thanks Lizard for reminding me of the time with the motorbike, those are really hard to lift up. I also know he was throws around heavy duty microphone stands in concert, and they are really heavy. I am not sure if he is really strong now, but I saw a pic of him on the net and he was walking around with a big baseball player on his shoulder. Thats strong!

There is plenty of evidence in the To Hell And Back book to demonstrate Meat's physical strength.
For instance, there is the story of how he used to take part in the shot put event,by the time he was in the 8th grade he was coming 4th in the city of Dallas. The book also tells of when he first met Joe Cocker,in the days where he moved the bands 300 pound church organ around single handed. THE LIZARD has already discribed the incident with the motor bike. One of my favorite episodes was the time he saw a girl get hit by her boyfriend, and he jumped off the bus picked the guy up by the lapels and slamed him against the wall. I think a big factor in his strength,is his positive and single minded approach to anything he does. |

Just a couple of questions:
1: How old would he be in the sophomore year? 2: How much would that motorbike have weighed? Just curious :) |

Another couple of episodes you could add to the list:
In fight club, the fight with Ed Norton. How long did that last???! In Trapped, even, when he hauls Callum Keith Rennie (born in the same town/city I was!!!! ) away from the window and throws him to the ground before CKR can break the window. PS I put town/city cos it was a town when he was born here, but it's a city now :) |
