Top 1000 ever in Holland
Just some info for those who may concern.
The top 1000 ever is broadcasted on the dutch radio. 5 Jim Steinman’songs/6 Meat Loaf songs appear in the list: Since 1981 Paradise is one of the most popular songs. What I remember from 1983 is that Total eclipse was just a modest hit. It reaches the top twenty in the charts. But it is somehow a popular song. The first figure is the position this year, the other is the positon last year. 9 (6) Paradise by the dashboardlight 85 (29) Total eclipse of the heart 108 (57) You took the words 173 (243) I’do anything for love 391 (--) Bat out of hell 503 (460) I’d lie for you (and that’s the truth) In total 500,000 people voted. |

Interesting. Does that mean that Bat wasn't in the list last year.
I'm amazed how much criticism Meat gets over in Holland (I know since I lived there). There it really seems that you either REALLY love the music or absolutely dispise it. Crazy world. |

Is there a link to the website or news article or something? I find it strange 'It's All Coming Back' isn't on there.

Thanks Mariella, I think it's the same list as on Q-Music
I've only started looking at the list but straight away Bonnie Tyler's - Total Eclipse Of The Heart is at No.62 and not 85 So which list is the correct one? Pud |

1) The Dutch don't know a great Steinman song if it jumped up and bit then in the ass 2) The Dutch have great taste for not voting for Celine Dion Quote:

Most people between 20 and 50 know Paradise though - and I mean word-by-word - well by ear lol In a country with 16.000.000 (give or take a few) I think 500.000 votes is a lot. And you are right, it does seem to be a Love-or-hate situation here...is that different in other countries? Love, Mariella |

Although I do like the song - I am just having a hard time looking at Celine while she is singing, her facial expressions I mean, and I think she has a great voice - I just don't enjoy seeing her sing that song. Love, Mariella |

Its all coming back to me now was a top ten hit here but all my friends, relatives and other people I know they think its a copy of AFL. "it all sounds the same". Maybe that's the reason it is not in the list.

It's All Coming Back sounds nothing like Anything For Love Even if it did, it would be Anything For Love that sounded like It's All Coming Back, since IACB came before AFL.

You think that and I think that but the majority thinks that it all sounds the same. Just do a little survey among your friends and relatives.

I've just got off the phone to my parents and my two brothers (coincidence NOT intentional for survey purposes) and pretty much they said the two songs don't sound anything alike.
I was most impressed with my Dads knowledge though, as he said "Anything For Love! wasn't that sung by that yanky fat bloke who's always waving a red hanky around? can you imagine the germs he's spreading doing that. And the other was sung by that skinny tart who sings about sinking boats. I know the songs and they're both crap, nothing alike, but crap anyway!" Pud |

I really dont think that the two songs sound alike at all!!! I love them both though. I really don't mind celine dion at all, my mum booked a holiday in vegas just to see her live, and is taking me too, so at the moment i really like her ) She got me a holiday!!!
