Default A musical with BITE.

I've recently started to discover the material from Tanz Der Vampire.

FECKING AWESOME STUFF

Found a few clips on youtube

Fav's are..........

Gott Ist Tot.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRhOE...tt%20ist%20tot

and a Tanz medley.......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBkGF...rch=tanz%20der

I LOVE the reprise of Totale Feisternis where she gives herself to the vampires bite.

Lovely stuff

Would love to get to see this some time.

Not a patch on the other production IMHO, but the best I could do

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1t35...%20die%20nacht

I've just sdited this because I originally said it wasn't as good as the Austrian production, then I remembered, Vienna IS in Austria

Most be a different production though, as this guy just is nowhere near as good as the bloke in the other clips.

Another thought that occured to me...

Why in the world this was produced on Broadway???

Broadway is for Pirates of Penzance and Lion King...

This is a City Opera material...

Can somebody please resurrect this and produce it at City Opera???

Just tried to translate the lyrics of Die Unstillbare Gier, the song with the objects melody.
The story is so great that I´ll post it public istead of PMing
Please tell me your opinion

R.
Quote:
It is night, no star in sight
the moon hides, he´s afraid of me
Here´s no light and no hope
just the silence
and inside of me, the shadows of my torture

(start of the objects melody)

The skies were pure and the fields were green
in the summer of 1617
we were laying in the grass
her hand on my skin was warm and lovely
She didnt knew that I was lost
Even I believed that I could win
But that day it happend the first time
she died in my arms

Like always when I tried to reach out for life
nothing was left in my hand
I wanna be a flame and becoming the ash
but I´ve never even burned
I wanna get high and higher
but I´m sinking deeper and deeper into nonentity
I wanna be an angel or a devil
but I´m nothing but a creature, which never gets what it wants
If there´s just one moment of luck for me
I would take eternal perdition
but all the hope is gone
´cause the hunger never ends

One day, if the earth dies and the last human with her
everthing that´ll be left is the bleak desert of a unappearsable greed

The reverends daughter let me in at night
1730 after may´s devotion
With her heart´s blood I wrote a poem on her skin so white

And Napoleon´s servant
stood in front of the castle in 1813
that his sadness didnt hurt my heart
I´ll never forgive myself
But always when I try to reach out for live
I saw how it broke
I wanna understand the world and know everything
but myself, I dont know
I wanna be free and freer
but I cant break the chains
I wanna be sinner or saint
but I´m nothing but a creature
which has to hurt and destroy and kill whatever it loves
Everybody believes that it´ll get better in the end
so they take the pain
I wanna be lush at length
but the hunger never ends
Some believe in humanity
some in money and fame
some believe in art and science
and love and heroes

many believe in gods, no matter how different they are
they believe in heaven and hell in wonders and signs in virtus and vices
but the real force is the greed

I predict you mortals here and now that even before the next millenium the only god that everbody will serve is the eternal greed

Now I can't figure out why you were surprised...so predictable...

BUT...I think it's the first time I actually liked the voice...

And to be honest with you...like these lyrics somewhat better...they are darker and much more interesting...

Just noticed a big difference between TDV and DOTV.
Listened to the "invitation to the ball" which is not bad, but just average, then I´ve listened to "Einladung zum Ball" (the same title), which is a variated version of original sin.
