It's Ross' site and it's been reported elsewhere that the RAH concert is being filmed for TV and DVD release. It seems silly to me to be showing it on TV - surely that will restrict the DVD sales?

I don't know if it will restrict the DVD sales... if it's a good concert folk will want to have a permanent reminder, personally I intend to buy the DVD anyway, whether it's shown on TV or not.

isnt it often so that a concert will be shown on tv just partially? (of course just if it wont be broadcasted live)
so we would have 4/5 tv broadcasted songs and the rest on dvd. btw, I think the dvd production allows another checking of the cameras so there could be different/more cam angels used that on tv. |

Well it's certainly not without a precedent.
The Bad Attitude Live concert filmed at Brixton Academy in 1986 was first broadcast on BBC Two a while after the show was recorded, and then later in the year it was released on Video in it's more uncut form (The TV Broadcast featured less songs and an editted version of Paradise) |

Is this rumour based on the list of Meat's October promotional activity in the UK? Because that refers to:
16/10 London Tonight (int from Royal Albert Hall) A live broadcast of the show is a bit of a stretch from an interview don't you think?? And I can't conceive that they'd leave such a major broadcast off the list. London Tonight is ITV's London evening news programme, and I can certainly envisage them showing a brief interview with Meat about a show taking place at the RAH that night .. but as to a live broadcast of the show .. I think that's a pretty wild assumption from the list supplied. Caryl |
