Default With out you I am nothing!

Thou this isn't the first time i have heard Meat say this in a concert it got me thinking. (god i have got to stop doing that it hurts)

"Without you I am nothing"! that maybe a very true statement, Id like to turn it around where would we be without he's music?

1) What would i have been playing for the last 29 years? no other album has captivated me like Bat out of hell?

2) What song would i have used instead of for crying out loud, I ve lost count of how many relationships i have said this is our song (boy you girls are weak to a good love song)

3) Would I still be going out with the girl that whilst during a drunken stupor at a party she dumped me because i mistakenly said this is our song after the first couple of bars of two out of three and she got so upset that i will never ever love her?

4) what would i have had instead of the amazing memory of my 18 month old daughter jigging away in front of the television every time anything for love was played and it was quite a lot?

5) What song would i have played to console me when my brother died when where angels sing fitted so well.

6) what song would i have used to get me pumped up instead of frying pan played at full volume.

These are just a few memories out of hundreds. So without us you maybe nothing but without you our lives would certainly not be the same.

Yeh I agree!! I was never interested in music untill I heard Meat Loaf! When I first heard him I was just blown away! I now love all sorts of music but nothing even compares to Meats.

I agree, my severely disabled son has been to hell and back over the last 3 years. Without Meat's music I'm sure we wouldn't have coped.
Steven has had little to smile about but you should see the grin on his face when we play CHSIB andthe MSO dvd or when we when to the Harewood House concert.

Thank you again Fire Ball and Never ever stop Rockin

But if no one bought his singles or albums, he would have been dropped years ago. So he needs you, or his not going to carry on making music. So it makes sense what he says, in his profession he needs buyers without the buyers he's not going anywhere.

I commented at the time that he really seemed to mean it. His interaction with those of us down at the front there was fantastic.
Have to say, his (Steinman) music really does touch you emotionally - the playing of Objects was the most emotional I have ever felt in a song, live or otherwise. Incredible.

Well said & a good question, Wenners " Where would we be without his music?"

If it were not for BOOH, and the world Meat & Jim created for me to escape too, back in '78, one possibility is.. I maybe dead!

Like some others have said.. no other artist or music has ever ment so... much or touched my soul, like Meat's has done, over these many many yrs. Most every song, I can relate to a time and place in my life, that echo these stories, for that is what these songs trully are...they are stories of good times & bad, that we can all adapt to our lives individually and therefore make them our own, they become SO VERY personal imo, and what makes Meat's music so very very special to those who "get it".

So.. Meat, maybe it is true, that you need me(a fan) or you would be nothing... but what you have BROUGHT TO MY LIFE, is far far greater...

AFA,
Love, Jeanie xo

Last night was the first time I had seen Meat since my partner walked out eariler this year,in the weeks leading upto the gig I was itching to go but once he hit the stage tears flooded down my face (got some real funny looks from the girl next to me)and I just thought I have to get out of hear as the last time I saw him was at Blicklin Hall with my ex and it just brought back memories of her as I still love her dearly. but after making it though Paradise I got lost in his music and really enjoyed the gig and totally forgot my troubles.

So without Meat`s music I would be really lost as it has helped me through some hard times this year

Very good points Wenners.

Without Meat my life would have been the poorer .. like so many of us. His music never fails to take me to a better place, heightens the best moments and gives solace in the worst. It's been that way for me for nearly 30 years, and it will be that way for me for life.

And after the show I thought ..

Such a gracious man who truly appreciates his fans .. and Meat .. without us you are still a wonderful, talented, creative and hugely energetic performer par excellence ..

With us you prove it to the world!!

I was deeply touched by his words, because he meant and mean it this way and added myself in my mind ".. and without you we're nothing, that's why we crying out loud we love you!" (still with my heart and soul in London)

I believe the point of the thread is "where/what/who would you be, if Meat had never come into your life?"

Would it have a profound difference on where you are today, or would you still be exactly the same person, only without knowledge of those particular songs.

It's not a thread about "who needs who more", which I think you might have took it as.

Personally, I have no idea what my life would be like if i'd never heard Meat

It's no exageration to say that Meat plays a MASSIVE part in my life.

For starters, Meat gave me my first real LOVE of music.

It was hearing a 10 sec clip of Bat on a TV advert that hit me like a sledgehammer, and made me want to listen.

Could anybody else have done that?

Well there are other artists I like, but not to that extent.

I listened to those artists because I developed a love of music.

Although I love them, would those artists been able to initiate that first vital spark?

Who know.

So if I never loved music, i'd never have become a singer.

If it wasn't for listening to Meat, and trying to emulate his performance, would I ever have grown my hair?

This forum.
I'm here most days (rare when i'm not).
I have a lot of friends here.
This forum is a large part of my social life.

Would I have joined a forum like this for any other artist if there was no Meat?

So, you could, in theory, that Meat has possibly affected my interests, my proffession, my apperance, and my day to day social activities.

Yes, I think i'd be a VERY different person if it wasn't for Meat
