Default New Meat Loaf DVD - Meatloaf Bat Out Of Hell

Just been handed a presenter for a new DVD due for release at the end of June this year.

Tracklist includes:

Life Is A Lemon (And I Want My Money Back)
Dead Ringer For Love
Testify
All Revved Up With No Place To Go
Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire)
I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)
Heaven On Mainstreet - Hellburn (No idea what this is???)

US rocker Meatloaf is undoubtedly one of the greatest stars in rock 'n' roll history. In 1975, after several years of moderate success as a musical singer and occasional actor, he had his first big success when he appeared as Biker Eddie in Richard O'Brian's movie classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The real breakthrough, however, was scheduled for 1977, when Meatloaf met songwriter Jim Steinman, who was convinced that this heavyweight with the voluminous voice was the perfect performer for his songs. With almost 50 million copies sold, their 1977 album Bat Out Of Hell is among the top records on the all-time bestsellers list.

In the early 1990s, Meatloaf and Steinman decided to produce a sequel, Bat Out Of Hell II. It was released in 1993 and is considered one of the most impressive comebacks in music history.

Cool! Do you know if this is a live DVD? Could it be the same DVD that we were all told about a couple of months ago; 'Live in London?'

Just came across on Play that it features an interview with Jim Steinman, and lasts 1hr 5mins.

This is intriguing news, can't imagine this being the Live In London DVD that's been talked about as that was shot on the Bat III tour and hence Testify, Deadringer can't be from that show.

Presumably it's a "live" DVD? In which case we're looking at the CHSIB tour era, can't be a re-release of the MSO DVD can it?

Meat said something about a few new Steinman songs for the 30th anniversary. Once upon a time, Steinman was not averse to the idea. Could this be the release of the first two ("Heaven On Main Street" and "Hellburn")? Apparently, they're live, so if it is, either he's going to perform them soon for filming, or he's done them before live. (And while we're on the topic of new Steinman songs, if that's what they are, where are the rest of them? He said he'd do Jim's version of Bat III for an album tentatively titled Conclusions and Climaxes, so where are "We're Still The Children We Once Were," "Braver Than We Are," "Not Allowed To Love," "Paradise Lost," "No Lips, Hands, Or Butts," "God Has Left The Building," "The Monster Is Out Of The Cage," "The Powers Of Darkness," "What Part Of My Body Hurts The Most," and "Renegade Angel"?)

On a side note, if this is the 30th anniversary release, what the hell is "Testify" doing on it? All the other Steinman songs, Bat or no, I can understand, but "Testify" (which you'll recall was a song by Kevin Griffin)? Just because TMIL had non-Steinman songs on it, does not mean that should be the new standard.

this has been listed on ebay for ages, rememeber seeing it lots of times (could even have been before christmas) but never acknowledged it as it looks like one put together from bits and pieces of all Meats DVD's, even the artwork looks like it was done on a PC. Don't think this ebay DVD is a legit item....but I could be wrong.

Well, the track list and photo on the ebay items match up with this item on a Swedish music shop site:

http://www.swedenrockshop.com/browse...5586&iID=20002

That was released June last year, it says. All the tracks that Kev mentioned are in the track list.

What this means I have no idea, but it is curious

Oh No.........

THIS IS a montage of MSO performances and music videos.

DONT BUY IT.

It's been around forever. waste of money. probably just a DVD to bring in some quick bucks.

The REAL concert has been shot:

It is in stores in Holland since last year, and like several of you say.... A waiste of money, since it is mainly cuts from the MSO.

Since it was only 5 euro I bought it, wondering what heaven on mainstreet/hellburn would be like

Back then I went to look on the internet for the people behind the name: VEO star entertainment from Germany, but nothing at all.

Why do you think these are both the same items?

Only point is that the tracklist looks kind of similar, but it's a) not exactly the same and b) has a Jim interview on it.

I'm pretty confused now...

Actually, that fact that it's "Meatloaf" not "Meat Loaf", would say everything, wouldnt it?

We'll wait and see....

The tracks that Kev listed are all included in this other DVD, including "Heaven On Mainstreet - Hellburn", whatever that is. Running time is also the same. My guess is that it is the same, but with the Jim interview added. But like you say we'll wait and see...

just one more thing:

IF it's the same...then the new one has not as many tracks as the old one....but with 65 mins the same length....

That item you quoted on ebay is a pile of poop and NOT an official product....See .net for details, Ebay has suspended several people for selling this and obviously havent picked up on these 2 sellers yet.
Total waste of money and i was fuming when i found out i had been scammed into buying it as well.

Kev's info must be a different item.
