Does anyone know contact details for Paul Crook.
I want to ask him a question about one of the guitars he uses. Hopefully he will answer me. Rob |

Hi,
Thanks for replying. Very simple question. I just want to know what guitar you are using on the Melbourne DVD. I know you have a custom one at Ed Romans, but the one in the DVD looks different. I am in the market for a guitar suited to Meat's music and that one looks perfect. I currently only have a single coil strat, not quite there with that one. I think the sustained note on the intro to 2 out of three swung it for me. It's amazing how much emotion you can drain out of one perfectly executed note. I want to do it! I'm sure i'm not the first person to ask for advice on what guitar to buy to play Meat's music on. Thanks for a reply and i'll enjoy watching and listening at Wembley next month. Hi Rob,
The guitar in question is a BC RICH MOCKINGBIRD. This particular instrument was hand built by Bernie Rico SR. and his son Bernie JR. in California. Here's a great page about Bernie SR. (R.I.P.) that was written by Ed Roman: http://www.edromanguitars.com/newsit...ars/bcrich.htm The guitar is loaded with a boat load of electronics hence is ridiculous sustain. All of my guitars (except one Ed Roman Pearlcaster) are loaded with Seymour Duncan (humbucking) pickups. Great product!!! http://www.seymourduncan.com/compareTones/matrix.asp Wood... I prefer a combination of mahogany and maple for the body and either type (alone) for the neck with an ebony fretboard. Mahogany is very beefy. Maple is bright. Hope that helps. Metal, Crook |

This one looks good. If I add some Seymour Duncan pickups to it, it should be fine. Nowhere near as good as yours, but still looks more than capable.

That's the one! I like Floyd Rose bridges. Except when restringing.
Caelan, I know it might seem a lot of money, but www.dolphinmusic.co.uk are doing that guitar for 578 euros. To me, that is very good value for money, especially when you compare it to some other manufacturers. Getting the guitar shortly and will plug straight into my Marshall stack. Ooh, my neighbours are gonna love me! Last edited by robfosters; 25 Apr 2007 at 14:25. |

If you do, you gotta check out Ed Romans place. He seems to be a guitar messiah in the States. He does a Paul Crook signature guitar. You can check it out here:
http://www.edromanguitars.com/newsit.../paulcrook.htm Expensive, but a great guitar. I think you can have bat inlays on the neck as well. However, the shape does not look too practical for home sit down practice. Look seriously cool on the wall though. |

If you go to "see more Rockingbird guitars" and scroll to the bottom of the new page, there is a huge price list. The guitar starts at a base price of $2250, but you can add optional extras, like different finishes, hardware and inlays. I imagine if you're serious about one, you can just e-mail the store and they will give you a price on the exact signature model.

What I would like to do, is to get one of those in a basic finish, and then get a pro to spray it with the album cover of perhaps bat 1 on the front, blending into bat 3 on the back. It may sound corny and cost a hell of lot of money, but it would be a one off and a great collectors piece.
