Default Vinyl question

I hope someone can answer this question. I'd like to know how many vinyl records were actually manufactured / released of these albums:

1. Bat Out Of Hell II

2. Welcome To The Neighborhood

I recently saw it being offered on eBay for € 129. Is the price justified? I know it's pretty rare but I don't know how rare / valuable exactly.

3. Couldn't Have Said It Better

I know it exists but I've never seen one on the market.

4. Bat Out Of Hell III

I have seen the U.S. version by Virgin (red vinyl) quite often so far, while the European pressing by Mercury/Universal seems to be hardly available. Is it just a coincidence or is there a reason? Which edition is more rare? How many records were made in Europe and how many in the U.S.?

No idea how many were actually manufactured

Bat II and Neighbourhood are more rare than the Bat, Dead Ringer etc but they are appearing on Ebay more and more often, though not sure $129 is a fair price.

Couldn't Have Said It Better is extremely rare, I have only ever seen one on the market, and it wasn't long before someone dropped everything and took it off the market as quickly as it appeared!

Bat III isn't as rare as I thought it was, again I have no idea of the numbers but they do appear on Ebay a lot. The red Bat III vinyl I think is more rare than the standard black one, all of which are well worth having!

Can't speak for the Neighborhood one, but even the picture version of Bat II only goes for £20 or so.

I'd rate the albums in this order of decreasing rarity (or increasing availability)

CHSIB (As rare as rocking horse shit)
WTTN (I see about a copy a month on ebay somewhere with varying end prices)
Bat III (US Red and European issues seem to have abuot the same availability now)
Bat II (seems that the standard vinyl is more rare than the picture disc)

The remainder are equally available although obviously there's more copies of Bat, Deadringer and Midnight floating around as they were truly released before the CD age kicked off.

They're all lovely though

Aside from the fact that I often prefer to listen to the vinyl record instead of the CD, the artwork of most of the albums just looks gorgeous in larger format (especially WTTN).

Ha ha, I love your descriptions. I've only seen CHSIB once of ebay, and it went for an outrageously expensive price. I hate the original vinyl and picture disc of BOOH, the plain vinyl and picture disc of Bat 2, picture disc for Dead Ringer, plain vinyl for WTTN, but I didn't pay $129 for it, don't know if there is a picture disc of it, I haven't seen it if there is and the plain vinyl and red vinyl for Bat 3.

I saw several go by on ebay for more than I was willing to pay - I just set my maximum and if it went higher I just waited for the next one. I think I paid £25 which is less than $40 these days but would have been about $50 then.

I haven't paid more than € 50 for a Meat Loaf record yet; those items were either in mint condition or still sealed. I'd be willing to spend much more on CHSIB.

I was a little disappointed by the U.S. pressing of Bat III. I've seen several copies and the labels on the records just didn't look good. They all had tears around the hole in the middle. The inner sleeves are also pretty cheap. What a contrast to the beautiful red vinyl and the nice fold-out cover.

(The U.K. one has "Dead Ringer" printed on the banner while the U.S. version hasn't. The U.K. pressing also has the tracklist printed on the back; the U.S. record is pretty "naked". The same applies to the Bat Out Of Hell picture discs.)

There isn't but there's a nice 12" picture disc of Running For The Red Light.

They do indeed ... especially WTTN ... like this bargain (the picture really doesn't do it justice!)

I dread to think of the ebay carnage that'll occur when a copy does reappear, the last one was over 18 months ago and following a mad dash home from work to get to a PC that allows ebay access ... it's now safely locked in a case, guarded by a moat, legions of blood thirsty troopers and a couple of leopards

Yeah I had to let it go a few times as it got too expensive for me, but it just seemed to be getting more expensive every time it came up, so I grabbed it before it got too much more.
